I was with a guy for 3 years that I met online. A year after we broke up, I met another guy online and now I'm married to him. It can work out, but you do have to be very careful.

I did, but it was a relationship based on lies. Not huge ones, just things like my name, where I lived, ect. Gotta stay safe, you know. We became pretty good friends, but it really just didn't work out for us. For one thing, he lived in France (or at least, he said he did... he sounded French), and I live in America. Plus, with dating on the internet, you can never be completely sure that the person you are talking to is who they say they are.

If you are going to date online, be VERY careful. Don't give out your name, phone number, address, ect. If you meet, do it in a very public place and don't be alone with them for a long time.

Of course, this doesn't count as much for dating sites such as match.com or eHarmony.com, since they do a good job checking out the people who are on those sites.

My fiance and I met on eHarmony if that counts. However, our first date was in the middle of the day, in a very public place and we both drove our own cars. He was a gentlemen and things turned out great. We will be married in September!!!
