I had a 94 model, sold it to a relative, has 180,000 on it now, drives like new, some rust is starting to show below the rear doors, nothing major. Regular oil changes, no issues. The Altima is made in the US. I get a laugh out of this US-Japanese made car rift you see on some of the posts here. Somebody here was proud of his US made Ford Fusion,- (this car is actually based on a Mazda platform in Mexico.)

Since Nissans are Japanese (and let's be honest, Japanese and other foreign makes are among the best out there), it wouldn't surprise me if it surpassed 185,000, assuming it's been well taken care of ever since it left the dealership.

My mother's 1987 Honda Civic has made it to about 187,000 (even though she has had trouble with the carburetor), and my old 1994 Dodge Dakota SLT (yes, American, but it was a great care) made it to 223,000+ before it started to have major radiator, transmission, waterpump, and braking problems.

So yeah, with an Altima, I'd definitely say the better of 185,000, unless you plan on getting a newer car before it hits that mark.

Hey , you should Get about 225.000 miles out of it, providing you take care of it like oil changes @ 3,000 miles tire rotations stuff like that and also your driving habbits, dont drag race with it or any thing like that, just drive it normal, kind of like an Old Lady type thing. If you look in your owners manual ,some where in it has the Recomended service sec. ,just go by it and all the other thing i mention and it will last.
P.S. for example 18 wheeler motors last about a million miles,as long it was taken care of by the book, my car is a 1997 Chrysler Concord and i have 140,000 miles on it and still get 24mpg and uses no Oil . Ok i hope this Helps you, Good Luck.

I don't think it matters that much what carmaker the car is from as long as it is a quality car. You can get 200,000 out of a good car if you take care of it and don't go too long between oil changes and stuff like that.

My son's '97 is still running very strong at 190,000, so I'd say with decent care it should go 250,000-300,000 miles.
