These species grow in South Carolina. Not all of them involve a cow or his pies, some like Gymnopilis grow from wood. Check out Shroomery.org cause its all you'll need.

where is S;C
mushrooms grow by certain trees where ever they may be
or in certain soils or organic matter ,like horse manure or rotten logs
and certain conditions of humidity
they need the lightning to start them off
so rain is a nessesary ingredient.
and they are all over the world
like under the eucaliptus and pine for Amanita Pantharina
Vancouver airport is famous for magic mushrooms
so is Mexico ,Africa ,pine forrests any where
you name it
