Just wondering if a person begins getting paid immediately upon being shipped off to boot camp. Or is there a waiting period? Or do they have to wait until after boot camp?

Military members get paid the 1st and 15th of every month, but you don't start getting paid until you enter basic training. If you enter basic between the 1st and the 15th you may not get your first pay check until the 1st of the next month, and if you enter basic between the 15th and the end of the month you may not get paid until the 15th of the next month (but they figure you're at basic training and they're taking care of all your needs so you don't need the money anyway).

No, just like any other job, you have to work before you get paid. Your pay starts when you enter the MEPS Military Entrance Processing Station the last time as a civilian and walk about as an enlistee (not delayed entry, but one that is on the way to "boot" camp).

You get paid while in boot camp......though you won't be needing the money for much so expect to come out of boot camp with some dough in the bank

You get paid for basic training. When hubby started it was like 900 a month. Then if you signed up for the GI Bill, they started taking the $100 a month out right away.
Didn't you have to provide bank account info already? They only do direct deposits....

you start getting paid on the first day of basic training (not boot camp thats the marine corp)

expedct it to be 6-8 weeks after reporting to basic training before the first check hits. ALSO expect it to be wonky becuase all the expenses you incur upon getting to BT/Boot come out of thwat first check.

we started earning money in bootcamp although they never gave us any of it until we graduated,, back the it was about 300 a month
