I think you should start it on your lower back and have the tree branch over the span of your whole back. just so you know lower back doesnt equal a tramp stamp thats just a stereotypical phrase for people who have ink.
Good luck, i love your idea.

Between your shoulder-blades. Have the branches spread out over your shoulder blades and minimize the root spread. That would look much cooler than the standard lower back tattoo that every wanna-be hip chick has!! (Tramp Stamp - I LOVE that!! Too funny!)

It sounds like you want to put it on your lower back. Forget people and their stereotyping of tattoos as tramp stamps. As long as you are getting a tattoo because 1. you want it 2. the design has a meaning for you, then that's all that matters. I would suggest talking to your artist and ask for recommendations. He/she can place the stencil and let you look at where it will be before it's ever inked. After all, they do this for a living and can help you achieve your artistic ideal! Besides if you put it somewhere that you aren't totally comfortable with it, you may regret it.

It sounds to me like you have already made up your mind. It sounds like you really want it on your lower back.
Honestly, I have one on my lower back, and if people call it a tramp stamp, well so be it....i don't give. To me it is a beautiful design, I loved it, and I wanted it on my lower back. People want to judge me for that, they can.
The tree idea sounds really, really, cool and it would make more sense to have it on the lower back.
If you have it on your shoulder blade, with the roots, it will look like the tree is floating. It wouldn't make much sense.
I really think you should go with your lower back, but as always, it is your body, and you make the final call. Good luck.

I would say right in the middle- let the roots fall down toward your hips, and the tips of the branches can reach up to your shoulders. If you get the whole thing on your lower back, it will HURT like mad- the tattoo artists I know tell me that the lower back is one of the single most painful sites for a tattoo. (They told me right AFTER they finished mine there... jerks.) Good luck!

I think the lower back, if the roots are important to you. The placement on the lower back is not what makes it a tramp stamp. This tattoo sounds unique and special, nothing trampy about that!!!

It really all depends on how comfortable you are with showing it off. It will be easier to hide if it's on your lower back.
If you get one between your shoulder blades, you have to think about what if you want to wear a strapless dress to somewhere (ie, wedding), do you want the tattoo showing? If you don't have a problem with it showing, then do it between your shoulder blades.
Okay, but to answer your question, I think it will be nice between your shoulder blades.

You need to get a second opinion. I felt lumps in the cervical spine area and one doctor said there was nothing wrong. Later, after an MRI, they found 2 discs were ruptured. Depending on whether it's actually touching the spine may determine whether you are a candidate for surgery, or whether they would opt for therapy. It can be very painful.

Why not get a henna tattoo first to try it out? Honestly, do you want that tramp stamp on your lower back forever? It looks so ridiculously tacky, even if it's a unique design because someone like me will only be able to see that it's a tree/flower design on your lower back!! I reccomend getting it between your shoulder blades if you must get a tattoo at all.
