First you need to go through a highly reputable breeder because of the many health problems that can afflict Bulldogs. Puppies from reputable breeders tend to have less health problems and that is very important with this breed. You can find a good breeder through the Bulldog Club of America (www.thebca.org) Second, Bulldogs are a very high maintenance breed. They need their wrinkles cleaned at least once a day or they run the risk of yeast infections, also if they have a tail pocket it needs daily cleanings and some need their butts wiped every time they potty. Because of their breathing problems, they cannot tolerate the heat and they also cannot tolerate very cold temperatures. Bulldogs are also prone to ACL problems because of their shape. Most of a Bulldog's weight is on it's front legs so if they jump or land wrong they can very easily tear their ACLs since the back legs are not used to carrying all that weight. I'm sure there is more but I can't think of it right now but if you want you can check out The Bulldog Domain (http://forum.bulldogdomain.com/index.php) which is a forum with a lot of Bulldog owners.

Younger English Bulldogs tend to be full of energy while older ones tend to slow down. It is important to exercise an English Bulldog at least once a day to discourage obesity. This can be difficult sometimes since some English Bulldogs are content to not move at all. This choice of inactivity also makes it important to not overfeed an English Bulldog.

Most English Bulldogs tend to drool, slobber and snore. This is due to their small windpipes, which also makes them prone to breathing problems. English Bulldogs do not handle heat well at all and are susceptible to heat stroke.

English bulldogs get along pretty well with other animals... so Anus, er... I mean Angus, should be fine! ;-)

Bulldogs ar the best! However, they do require a lot of care. Their cute little skin folds need to be wiped every day, they are prone to allergies, and dry eye. They are expensive, but well worth it. An no, they DO NOT stink. They are incredibly loveable and great with children. They are not at all aggressive and rarely bark.

I think these dogs are cute but there is 2 reasons I didnt get one. I was told they are VERY stinky dogs, no matter what you do. The second reason is they go for over $2500 for a pure bred in my area which is not realistic.
