Yes, start now!

K98ks, which are Mausers, are available at reasonable prices now due to the fall of the USSR......they are emptying out their old warehouses and finding willing buyers in the US. But don't wait long....when the supply runs dry prices will climb to likely twice or three times what they are now.

K43s are rare and go for much higher. I'm in the market for WWII guns everywhere and have rarely seen them offered. Stg44...never seen one, super rare and full auto. Expect $ Thousands.

AKs are readily available but do your research and get a good one. I have a couple of Chinese MAK 90s and they are much better for example than the junk from Romania. Get one soon because the Democrats in Congress don't want citizens to own these and will be outlawing them sooner than we know.

Lugers are selling for $1200 and up. Enfields can be had very nice at about $180 and there is good supply now.

.50 cals are very expensive and honestly way overrated. Expensive as heck to shoot and actually much less fun than a Mauser or Enfield or AK. Once I shot one, I no longer had any desire to own one, not when I could get many rifles and cases of ammo for the price.

H&K makes great pistols, but don't know the VP70 myself. I'm sure it's a great gun.

Start out with a large gun safe and a supply of trigger locks. You'd never be able to keep those weapons as personal property and show them. Thieves love guns. You will never get a FFL in CT for full-auto, so just get that out of your head. Used to be some Southern sherifs would accept donations and allow full-auto. No more. BAT would be all over you.

Guns appreciate in value just like art, but you don't shoot them and keep the weapons cleaned and oiled.

Unless it is changed the U.S. Bill of Rights, section 22 states
"Subject only to the police power, the right of the individual
citizen to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed". Seems
like you could get them at any time.

Why not start now? You're never too young to start collecting guns. You've definitely got yourself a great list of guns, expensive ones too.
