What decent Bar or Tavern in Toronto serves cheap drinks?

Depends on the part of town you are in and what kind of 'clientele' you are comfortable being surrounded by when you are doing your drinking of cheap drinks.

That being said, I'd go with The Wheat Sheaf tavern (oldest bar in Toronto, near downtown (King/Bathurst), and decent food/drinks at decent prices, good atmosphere). There is also McVeigh's (Adelaide/Church), Philthy McNasty's (Yonge/ Eglinton, ok food, decent prices for drinks).

Steer clear of anything along Front St (except maybe C'est What which is east on Front near Sherbourne) because the bars/restaurants are total tourist traps and don't fear charging you big $$$ for anything.

No many cheap drinks out there..you may try some of the places on Front Street or around Harbourfront..Good Luck..
