It's possible -- Prozac has pharmacological properties resembling stimulant drugs, which can produce all of the symptoms that you mentioned. Normally, tolerance is eventually established against these side-effects within a few weeks. You should tell your doctor about the adverse effects you're experiencing, and be switched to a different medication, if you are so inclined.

Prozac Heart Rate

Fast heart rate and dizziness are a common side effect when one starts taking SSRIs like Prozac (fluoxetine). Most people find that side effects dissipate after a couple of days, or at most a week.

When you start however, it is common to start on 10mg a day, and then after 3 or 4 days, move up to 20mg; this helps reduce the side effects.

STOP TAKING IT! Call your doctor! How fast is your heart rate? If it is too fast for too long, please go to the ER, if you can't get a hold of your doctor.
