Yes, I do know what a good life is, thanks. And no it doesn't.

Look..... where do you reliigous people come off thinking that you have it all better than an Atheist?

Atheists ONLY HAVE NO GOD. Period. That does not mean they have no morals, that they have no hope, that they have no idea what life is.

In fact, an Atheist knows all they have is TODAY. They don't spend all their lives hoping for tomorrow, or for death, or for some non existant sky fairy, to fix all their problems. An Atheist values everything and everyone around them because to an Atheist there is no tomorrow, or sky fairy and death is THE END of everything.

Christians especially say "tomorrow will be better" but do nothing to make it so except pray which is helping nothing at all.

Why is that so hard for religious people to understand? There's something liberating, and spurs the Atheists into action NOW instead of many years later, in knowing that there is no tomorrow.

Oh, there is plenty of hope in an Atheist. There's just no belief in a god.

I know what a bad life is because I've experienced it. I didn't like it so I turned it in to a good life. And a good life is much better. And no, a lack of religion doesn't make me ignorant of human basics.

You're a quick one. ;o)

Actually my life has become allot better since breaking away from the religious shackles that convinced me I was doing good.

I am not only happier, but am helping allot more people around me who really need it.

That is a good life.

I know many religious people who think that giving money to church and going to church functions is important to 'human basics'. In all reality these things don't help the people who really need it. 97% of the money given to churches goes towards keeping them active. I belong to a country club. It is exactly the same thing. My money goes towards keeping the golf course well maintained, and every now and then we hold a charity benefit that makes money for certain causes.

How is that any different from a church?

Apparently your lack of knowledge of the inner workings of Atheists makes you ignorant of human basics.

Yes, I do know what a good life is.
When you refer to human basic's are you refering to having compassion, respect ,loyalty, morals, not breaking the law, excepting people for who they are and not for what they believe or not believe in, living each day to the fullest? If that is your definition of human basic's, lack of religion or god in my life has not made me ignorant to them. I have everything that I need in my life to make me happy. I am the first one in our community of mostly christian people to come to the aid of a neighbor in need. I lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on, without expecting anything back.

Well I like to think that I'm not ignorant, but whether I am ignorant or not, I wouldn't know until you told me. By the way, although I am atheist, I belong to a non-theist religion. So yes, many atheists do follow religion, not that it matters.

Am I considered an Atheist if I believe in a higher power but do not follow the christian faith? Well if i am then I will say i have a great life, I would have a much greater life if there wasnt religious fanatics hoofing the ground in anger at every chance they get to threaten others for their beliefs. Believe what you wish but dont force others to do the same. I do not know one Christian that follows the bible. They do as they wish and when they "sin" they repent and then that leaves them the freedom to "sin" again..Religious fanatics frighten me they are not peace loving.

The only ignorance I see is your question. Just because a person is not spiritual or religious doesn't mean he lacks basic human morals and values!
