There is a prophetic statement told by prophet Muhammed (narrated by both Moslim and Bokhary) where he told his companions about a JINNI who tried to distract him while he was praying, but prophet Muhammed caught him (or it) and thought to tie him (it) to a pillar to show him (it) to his companions and then he changed his mind and let the JINNI free.
Is it possible to fight a JINNI and tie him (it)?

Oh man, that's almost as ridiculous as angels coming to talk to people. Actually it's more so.... Or as ridiculous as wrasslin with god(somewhere in the old testament).
Can you rub a lamp and get 3 wishes from a Jinni?(Geni)

First of all, he was no more a prophet than you are. If you knew your history (which is thrilling to say the least), you'd know that to call him a prophet is nothing short of "blasphemy".
Do you seriously think the true God would like that concept? His view of any of these so-called prophet, after sending us His only begotten son,
whether Muhammad,
Joseph Smith or anyone else...
since He sent us His son Jesus
is no different than if some Americans
were to proclaim George Bush a prophet.
You might believe it but that wouldn't make it so
and certainly wouldn't force the true God to accept it.
To this day, I just can't see and truly
It is beyond me how Cat Stephens and the like,
could have become trapped into such a pile of lies.

There are many such stories which are floating around from that time and many things have been attributed to the prophet, doesn't make them necessarily true, and also they are not an integral part of religion, but more folklore and tales to keep people amused.

In Middle-Eastern thought Jinn's are evil spirits...just like we would consider a demon to be. The guy who found the dead sea scrolls in Egypt, was afraid to break the jar the documents were in, because thought it might contain a Jinn.
