I don't think negative thoughts can be turned into positives by just thinking about them.
I think a better approach is to not think about those things and just do something you enjoy. The best thing is going out with friends but failing that going for a run, watching televison or using my computer works for me.

You are right it is easier said than done because it is much easier to come up with negative thoughts that we forget about all the other positives.Whenever you get a negative thought. Try to counteract it with something positive and try to stick with the positive. You can use whichever method suits you, whether writing them down, repeating them in your mind our disproving the negative as long as the outcome is a positive.
Too often we forget our blessings in life and focus on the bad (or seemingly bad) or discontentments. EG:"I can't be bothered to do exercise" - at least you are alive to have the choice, you have limbs with which you can use to exercise, you are not starving or suffering from hunger - you are quite privileged. Again "you're rubbish at that" - but you are absolutely brilliant at this, you're not too good but you tried and maybe with practice could be better at it, you have had the opportunity and the experience at trying that but it doesn't mean you have to be brilliant at it but you now know what it's like so your knowledge has grown as a result of the experience - so you may think you are rubbish but you have the experience which may make you seemingly better than someone that has never tried.
The first issue is to realise when the negative thoughts come at you and just don't dwell on them. Immediately try to convert them to positives or look at the other side. It's less stressful and makes you truly a better person because you become more grateful and appreciative of what you have. Anyway the negatives are there for a reason as you need some balance. Everything can't be hunky dory all the time - life isn't like that but as long as you can get a balance and see both sides and not dwell too much on one side - then things should be better. Anyway these are my thoughts and I hope they have helped

My mother always told me to say this when I was having a bad day:
"You're worst day is your best day, because it could always get worse."
You can actually make like a T-Chart with pros and cons of any situation. Write then all down, all that you can think of. Cross out the negatives completely, and look at all the positives you came up with only. If you do it enough, you'll teach yourself to look at only to good.
I mean, say you have a not so great job. But you can look at it as, "well, at least I have a job, and I can always find another one if I really need to. But for now, I have circumstances that face me, and I'm lucky to have the stability of a job I can work at." because believe me, I worked in managing retail, and from day to day, you are less than guaranteed a job if you don't show you want it. So look at it as, you're competent enough to keep a job. Use this as one example for everything you venture into.
I had chronic chronic stress and negativity problems all through school. My self-esteem, relationships, and health suffered because of it. But now, (after listening to my mom for quite some time), I just try to look at the goodness, because my family is not rich, if i looked at the negatives and didn't believe in myself, I would just live day to day in worry and anger. And that's no fun.
Life is a one-shot deal. So what if something doesn't go right. I'm sure there's been someone that the same thing happened to. You're never alone and everyone has their negatives, but it will make you a better person to cross out the negatives and look at the positives.
Haha, and another thing, if you are in teens or early 20's, in psychology class I'm learning more and more that Adolescents and early adults have a serious negativity and paranoid tendency. It's complte normal. So don't worry to much about how negative you're being. Negative about being negative if you will. That's a double negative (and now i'm just going on and on). Don't take things too seriously, it will all work out in the end haha. It usually does for my family because we don't have the money to get worked up on things haha.
Good luck. :)

It is very tough sometimes, but just sitting down and trying to think of all the positive things that have happened in your life does help, also try to find something to do that makes you happy, this could be anything, reading a book, listening to music, watching your favourate film. They say every cloud has a silver lining, the problem is it's obscured by our negativity, when we're feeling really down, all we can see are the bad things in our lives, i've been suffering from depression for most of my life, and it's particuarly bad at the moment, but on good days I know it's going to get better, other days it all just seems hopeless. But trust me on this things will improve, and they are never as bad as you think they are. Good luck, hope this helps in some small way.

Okay when it comes to me and positive thoughts i am a visual person. Now what this means is that say i feel negative about my body weight, i will go and find either a pic of me at a good weight or a pic of a body image i want to have. I carry this pic in my purse eveywhere so that i am constantly seeing what i want to acheive. Or say i want more money and am feeling really negative about my bills or my current job. I make a small chart, nothing fancy or a list of what in my life i want to change so that i can make these things happen. Maybe i want to save up enough money to go on vacation. I look up pics of where i want to go and print them out and tape it to my bathroom mirror. I will see this every day and it will motivate me into actually saving my change left over from work each day. I am reading a great book right now called "The Secret". Very awesome about positive thinking and the laws of attracting what you want in life. Good luck.

I think everybody has those negative thoughts. Sometimes they are true (like for me...why am I so disorganized and ineffective? Yes, it is true) And sometimes they are not true (like why does everybody hate me...when they don't and I am just down in a bad mood).
I think action is the best remedy. Stop thinking and start doing. Doing helps to drown out the negative thoughts in your head. Take a walk, make a (short and doable) list of things to do and then cross them off as you do them. What a good feeling. Don't listen to depressing music or movies when you feel that way.

Do you want to know one of the factors common Law of attractionproduct does not work for lots of people? Here is the response https://tr.im/utUq6 .
One of the answers for this concern that you will discover in this guide is that it makes it appear like as soon as you do get exactly what you want, that' it. Okay, you have exactly what you want now but what are you supposed to do in order to sustain the modification or benefits you've gotten? Consider it like a diet plan. If you desire to slim down and you strive to lose it, okay, you've managed to lose the weight? Does this imply you can stop doing the things that triggered you to lose the weight in the first place? If you do, then it will just be a short period before you were back to your routine weight and possibly a little heavier.
What you require, the option of this problem is this guide that does not confuse you about exactly what LOA. This is what the Manifestation Miracle is supposed to do. This guide is an unique spin on conventional LOA material, because conventional LOA product does not appear to offer the whole picture of what' required in order to be successful not simply in the brief term but long term.

I had the same question a while ago ... try the book " The power of positive thinking " by Norman Vincent Peale .
I found it amazing how such an issue can be explained and interpreted in such simple terms . I would highly recommend this book to anyone .
Try it , i hope you will find what you want to know . I did .
Good luck.

I think its a learned from our parents on how we see issues....
whether the glass is half empty or half full. The first thing you need to change this thinking is awareness, to be able to realise when you are seeing something in a negative light.
There are hypnotherapy cds for sale on amazon.com, do a search for positive thinking. Some people call it brain washing, but who cares if the result is a good one.
Good luck with it

You cant, but what you can do is get up tomorow & if it is snowing like this morning you can start off by saying to yourself
'Another wonderful day' even if it is grey & raining. Rain is still good even though the bright sunshine may be better.
I never get or accept the 'Monday morning blues' Mondays are as good as any other day.
'Looking forward to Friday' to me I look forward to every day.
Raise your esteem you are a good person & you can do anything you want to if you put your mind to it.
Be happy & don't let others get you down & you will find that you & life will get a lot better.
Best wishes & good luck
