There's a lot of info available online about aggressive behavior - but your best resource will be a trainer or behaviorist who can come to your home and see what's going on with your dog. No amount of advice from the internet is going to be as good as that. Here's a link to find one:

Biting can be caused by many things.First,I would let the vet have a look at your dog to make sure nothing is physically wrong causing the change in personality. Biting very often arises out of pain or fear. If there is no physical reason for this personality change you probably should consult a certified behaviorist.

Most of the time it is a reason of disrespect. People raise their dogs as humans and give them the same privilages as humans have, ie, slepping on the bed with owner, sleeping on furniture, eating at the same time, going through doors first, etc. When you get the right dog, he will show you how much contempt he has for you by treating you as equal or beneath him by biting you whenever he thinks you stepped out of line. This usualy happens when you did something that did not please or disturbed the dog in a way he did not like. The dog is showing typical alpha behavior. These are the dogs that end up at the pound as incorigables because their owners have screwed them up and can no longer deal with them. They will become someone else's problem when an ususpecting person happens to get them next. Go to leerburg.com and listen to what Ed has to say about dominant dogs and deal with your problem.

Because of the lack of Bite inhibition.
Bite inhibition is the ability of a dog to control the force of his bite

If he bites and hurts you, calmly say “Ouch!” and walk away from him. Step outside the reach of the tether, or exit the ex-pen so he can’t follow you and continue to bite. The “Ouch!” isn’t intended to stop the biting; it only marks the behavior – tells him what he did that made you leave. This is negative punishment – his biting behavior makes a good thing – you – go away.

As the dog whisperer says, he does not respect you as the pack leader. He has decided he is pack leader. You need to be calm and assertive and communicate that he is not to bite you and that he needs to be the submissive one. I suggest you get some DVDs or books on the subject or consult a good dog trainer.

It may not be a bad idea to take a trip to the vet to make sure there are no health issue in play.

Well, this might happen becuase your dog is bored and you have been neglegting him with play or walks around the park. Your dog needs to blow off some steam so he might playfully bite you... this happens with my dog as well.

Either he is spoiled, or he is afraid, or he has a medical problem. At any rate, he is trying to communicate something to you.

Talk to your vet.
