My mother is getting married in April and I'm not very keen about it, but I want to give her a present. What is appropriate for me to give her?!?

I think something that tells her that you love her. It's got to be rough when someone you love is making that big a step in their lives in a way you don't like. But letting you know you love her despite everything can be a strong force in your relationship. Write her a poem, or a heartfelt letter. Not exactly a "gift" in the regular sense but something perhaps even more valuable.

Give her your support. It is not your choice for whom she marries, but you must give her your support first and foremost. As a gift, something sentimental. Something that only you and her shared. OR something she could wear on her wedding day. Pearl necklace, with matching earrings.

The best gift you can give her is your support. Follow that up with a nice piece of jewelry, either something borrowed or something new....

Hopefully you will be getting them a gift as a couple. For that, something special for their home - even a mirror, or crystal or something. If you want to get her something specifically personal, do that separately and privately.
