Christianity is supposed to teach you not to judge others, not to be aggressive yet the most aggressive people tend to be Christians. They seem to get on a witch hunt, and it doesnt seem that very long ago that women were burned for things that the so called Christians didnt understand. When i read some of these answers it seems like it could happen again. Scary and the reason why I am afraid of religious fanatics.

I find it spine-chilling that most who believe in hell, do not even bat an eyelash in terror that BILLIONS of good people, not of their religious persuasion including, women, children, heroes of our time, talented souls who made great contributions will be tortured in a place a million times worse than a Nazi concentration camp for all eternity. I think any person with an iota of human compassion would find that idea sickening and feel all the more sad to believe it is truly going to happen.

The absence of this human compassion is made possible because the fundamentalist labels the non-convert or unbeliever as “evil” or “infidel” even if they are the most peaceable and compassionate person on earth. In order to cope with the horror of it, they need to dehumanise the non-convert, just like the Germans had to dehumanise the Jews. How else are you going to be comfortable with the idea of Ghandi going to hell? I often ask Christians who believe this, “How can you be clapping and praising while believing such a tragic thing? Even if you are grateful that you are not going to be tortured for an eternity, aren’t you devastated by the belief that billions of others will? How can you be worshiping a sadistic Deity that allows such a thing with a blissful smile on your face?” It's like watching adorable little children shout racist, hateful epitaphs at minorities they do not even know, and cheering at brutal treatment of them. It is just as creepy to hear religious people speak of such a ghastly thing with a contented expression on their face, unless of course they take a secret delight in it. I suspect that some do, judging from the swiftness they judge others and proclaim with heated vindictiveness or smug coolness “You’re going to burn in HELL!!!!”.

This chance to gloat from up on high is a big part of the appeal of hell for some people, especially if they feel insecure, excluded, unpopular and ignored in this lifetime. They can rest easy their slighted personal ego and soothe their religious pride when someone hurts their feelings with the knowledge that everyone will get their just desserts.
They like to think that it hurts God’s feelings when people reject their religious beliefs, when in fact it is only their feelings that are hurt. So they lash out at you.

I am a Christian and I truly work to not judge others. As a Christian, I want to tell others about the goodness of Jesus and how He loves them. I understand the point you are making, however on the other hand, I can understand why some Christians get worked up and if you have read some of the insulting questions in this category I am sure you where I am coming from. I have had to stop and pray many times to keep myself from getting angry or upset at some of the demeaning questions that I have read. I make it a point to respect other people's opinions and I think that is important. So maybe many Christians appear to be threatening or worked up and they probably are, but try to see their point of view, I think, for the most part, they are trying to do the right thing.

I couldn't agree with you more! Christianity is the biggest threat to the world right now....not because of the religion...but because of what that religion has become. I feel that christianity has become a "big machine" so to speak and is very far removed from their saviour's teachings. It is about money, numbers of members and power. Individual christians are not to blame...they are following their leaders with blind acceptance as they are told to do, but somewhere along the way powerful, smart and evil men twisted christ's teachings...and it began with Paul. All things evolve and change...for the good or ill. Let's hope that dropping church numbers are an indication that ppl are getting fed up with the big machine.

Christians are told to Go and share the news of Jesus Christ. Mark 16:15. Not to go out and preach hell fire and brimstone!!! nobody ever won someone to their beliefs by being rude, condemning and disrespectful. More Christians need to actually follow the teachings of Christ. The only people that Christ condemned were the religious leaders who were corrupt, judgemental, and condemned the pepople that didnt believe the way they did.

We need to remember what love is.

Sounds familliar.

What do you thinks it profits a christian by telling others about Jesus , hell ,or anything else to do with Christianity? They get nothing out of it for themselves so why would they waste there time trying to convince someone else unless they're doing it out of sheer love and compassion for others.Honestly why would someone work themselves up so much and try so hard to make others believe something if there is nothing for them to gain out of it? I think that is the problem because so many people are always only doing something for others if they have something to gain for themselves and i think that's why alot of people do not grasp the concept of Christianity, they cant imagine someone just generally caring for others without some kind of personal gain. God Bless You All. One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Because some Christians are young and immature spiritually.

When you first get saved you are newborn and are so excited and passionate of this wonderful experience of conversion that you want to tell everyone you see so that no one will be lost. Their spiritual eyes and heart have been opened to receive an awesome God.

With time in the Word, they will mature in the way they approach and answer people, but they will never stop wanting to be a good ambassador for Christ and share the gospel. Never.

Well I'm a Christian and i don't instead i pray that you will come to see the truth and become a part of God's family. I'm afraid there are those who forget the teachings on tolerance and forgiveness but Christians do slip up on the journey. God Bless.

It is not that they feel threaten that other will go to hell if they don't share their beliefs, the bible says "Let the wheat and the tarry grow together," only God can judge all we are suppose to do is tell them about God and pray that they get it. in God word it say "Work the work of he who send me while it is day because when night come no man can work" So all we can do is pray for them and hope to see them in heaven.
