Some people just tend to sweat more than others. I had a friend that was allergic to anti-perspirent and had to use baby powder under her arms to soak up the moisture. She went to a dermatologist and this is what he reccomended. It's so sad that many people have this problem. Sometimes it's just a matter of searching for that "one" certain product that works. You said "d.o." and I'm sure you meant anti-perspirent also. I've also heard that if you use one that is not a deodorant/anti-persp. combo and just an anti persp., that this works better also. I know this must be a terrible situation for her and I hope that my answer or someone else's here can help. I used to work with this guy that had the same problem, and although we were not close friends and didn't talk about it, I overheard him telling someone that he had tried lots of different ones...and his shirts were alwas soaked...yeah, yuck, at his armpits. He would wear this really strong(and cheap) cologne to try and cover the odor up...bad idea! Maybe your friend can talk to her doctor about this and get some really good professional advice...glad to hear that she drinks plenty of water no matter what. I'm sure that she already has figured out that wearing dark colors doesn't help any...loose fitting, light colored cottons seem like they would be the best to wear especially in warmer weather. She might also find some really good info by surfing the internet...maybe go to a medical advice web-site and then keep narrowing it down to her particular problem. Good luck and hope she finds something that will help her.
p.s. the only stupid questions are the ones that are never asked! so don't worry about that!

First off, there are no retarded questions...just some retarded answers...lol. Anyway, for your friend I suggest an anti-persperant...not a deodorant. Try Certain Dri. It is one of the best on the market for this problem. It might cost a little more than her normal deodorant, but it is worth it. Besides she will save on laundry and embarrassment! I had a friend I went to school with that had the same problem. Also, there is a new medical treatment out using botox injections under the arm. I know it sounds crazy, but it's working for many people. Tell your friend I said Good Luck!

she should go to her doctor and get a prescription anti-perspirant. it's very important to get an anti-perspirant rather than a deodarant because thact actually prevents sweating, while deodarant just masks the smell. my brother has some from his doctor called DrySol. Or could also get Botox injections in her armpits, which sounds crazy but actually works.. Kind of extreme if her sweating isn't really bad, but she can ask about that too.

Ok... Secret has just came out with a new prescription strength deodorant that doesn't need a prescription. I recommend that to your friend. If the sweating doesn't get any better she should go see a doctor.

There is a product on the market called Certain Dri - it actually inhibits the sweat from occurring. It's a lil more expensive than most deoderants, but completely worth it. You can find it at most drug stores (CVS, Rite Aid, etc.).

Certain Dry all the way! I used to have the same problem and the stuff was a life saver. It may also slow way down as she gets older, I just use normal deodorant nowadays and have no problems.
