We all fell in love with our kids the moment we first saw them of course but when did you know that little child was really yours.
Mine was when he was about a month old & couldn't stop crying...the only thing that settled him was listening to Van Halen "Unchained" over & over again.
(I am a big VH fan & that is one of my alltime favorite songs)

My Daughter is six months old now and I knew she was mine when her and her father were sitting on the floor and he said something stupid and I told him "No" while shaking my head and she looked right up at him and shook her head no at him. Then we all started laughing. I think she will be on my side for life. That was the first form of substantial mimicking she has done so far. Very proud and happy moment for Mama.

My wife and I adopted our son. Everyone says that even though an adopted child may not look like his parents, he will pick up their mannerisms. At about nine months he learned to roll his eyes. He is just like his old man .

His teen years are going to be VERY sarcastic.

I realized that she was mine at about a month also, and I thought I was a terrible parent...nice to know I am not the only one. I guess the reason for my not grasping it was because we waited so long to become parents and it just seemed like a dream, or someone was going to come and say, thanks for watching her, we are going home now!
