for example, a patient takes aspirin 100 mg once a day everyday with meals. with its long-term use, will there still be a risk of gastric bleeding even if aspirin is taken with meals? yes/no will be an okay answer, but its much better if you can support your answers. thank you very much.

a way to avoid this is to let the asprin dissolve in your mouth before swallowing. it will taste nasty but it gets more tolerable every time you do it.

I guess it really depends on how thick or strong your stomach lining is. To be effective aspirin should be taken 30 minutes before you eat to thin out the blood. If you are concerned with bleeding which is possible in some cases, I would take the pink baby aspirin that is the safest. Myself I only take aspirin when I am going to have a big meal which is not very often. and I guess I have been taking normal aspirin for about 20 years now with no problems.

Yes. Aspirin, like many other medications, is only absorbed more slowly in the presence of food. However, its side effect of possible gastric bleeding will still occur. Also, you should check with your doctor about taking 100mg/day. Hope this helps!

There is always some risk of GI bleed when taking NSAIDS like aspirin but the risk is decreased when you take it with food as this makes it not so harsh on the stomach as when you take it without food.
