Well, of course "none at all" would be the answer in a perfect world of no temptations and whatnot. I don't know about you, but that's not a realistic solution to me. I'm not an alcoholic by any means, but I do enjoy the occasional drink on weekends with friends. I tend to drink rum. It doesn't have as many calories, you don't need as much of it to feel the effect you want, and it doesn't give me a hangover!

Alcohol is fattening, if you want to lose weight, stop drinking. If you can't help yourself, don't drink very much, but the difference in carbs between the regular beers and the lights, between the regular flavored drinks and the ultras, its not diet soda, its fattening.
If you exercise, then you can still drink, just that to show results will take longer, not the end of the world, but if you have a dead line, stop drinking, work out, and diet.

Wine!! It has the fewest calories per serving of just about any alcohol. Of course, the serving sizes also tend to be smaller. When I'm on a diet, I drink wine with my dinner, and it helps me not feel like I'm totally abstaining from goodies.
In general, avoid sweet mixed drinks (Mudslides, etc.), beer, and malt beverages (Smirnoff Ice, etc.) like the plague.
Check out this website for a detailed breakdown of the number of calories in popular alcoholic beverages:

i'm unsure what type or how plenty exercising you get on a on a regular basis foundation. whether, while you're actually not very lively purely strolling for 30 to 40 5 minutes an afternoon will relatively help to burn off the surplus fat. in case you couple that with attempting to eat purely one hundred or 200 energy much less each and every day that is going to velocity up the fat loss. as quickly as your physique gets adjusted on your new ingesting and exercising conduct, you will might desire to alter it up slightly. you should limit your energy slightly extra and walk slightly longer each and every day or maybe walk slightly swifter or jog slightly for the duration of your walk. As for a fashion weight lifters nutrition plan, they like allot of protein and carbohydrates. you won't be able to income muscle without gaining weight.

Avoid alcohol. It has 7 calories per gram (only fat has more). The body has no use for it so 100% of the calories are empty calories. Also, it floods they system with acetaldehyde which disrupts the Krebs cycle and slows the metabolism.
Also, contrary to popular low carb mythology, the fattening effects of alcohol have nothing to do with carbs. Alcohol actually make someone more pre-disposed to hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
