It changes your personality - ask yourself just how dangerous is that?

Besides - it's just treating a symptom - depression exists because of something wrong with your life that needs to change, unless of course it's addressing a natural chemical imbalance. Sorry but I've had my life ****ed up by prosac and various anti-depressants / tranquilisers more times thatn I can mention - not through my taking them but by being involved with people who have/do.

I take Lexapro which is similar. I wouldn't take anything if there is any way around it. I have to because I have a chemical imbalance that causes my depression (hereditary). If its situational depression you will be much better off treating it with St. John's wort, 5htp, exercise, meditation, vitamins, therapy than medication. There are side effects that aren't too pleasing.
