If I were you, I would check out: www.nosdiet.com
The "No S" principle is simple: No sweets, snacks, or seconds, except on days beginning with S.
Very easy to remember and follow, and there is a message board on their site for discussions and sharing tips.

LA Weight-loss is the best program. The plan is VERY flexible. We get to LA Lites a day, which taste like candy bars! YUMMY! And we can eat Lean Cousines, Healthy choice(frozen meals). On average you lose 2.5+ lbs a week. You come in twice a week to report your progress. I have nothing but good remarks for LA Weight-loss! Ive lost 20 lbs since December!!!

Abs Diet. Hands-down the best, most sensible and healthy diet and eating plan I've come across. You eat 5-6 small meals a day, which includes certain "power foods" that maximize fat loss and muscle mass. it's great.

Eating 6 small balanced meals are good. Carbs should be high in fiber and protein sources should be lean. For example: Grilled chicken breast + sweet potato +broccoli.
Here are some links to a sample meal plan and nutrition info

Congrats on your choice to eat healthier, I would start with drinking plenty of water, cutting out sugar, but remember there is a sugar substitute you can use, eat smaller portions, your meals can still be fulfilling ,if you need to munch, try going to a natural foods store near you and talk to them, they'll help you pick out low calorie/low fat snacks, and remember to move, go for walks, do stretches, swim, and have fun!
