I proposed to my girlfriend on Regional Television. KPTH Fox channel 44 did a contest of who wanted to propose on TV on Valentine's Day. They had the winners picked out already when I submitted my entry. The question was, "Why do you deserve to propose on the air?" My answer, in all honesty, "I do not deserve to propose on the air. But my April loves me so much, she cares for me, encourages me, and reminds me every day what it means to be loved. I am a youth pastor so I will never make much money and will never be able to offer her what she really deserves, but what I can do is love her unconditionally for the rest of my life, giving her all I am. I can at least give her an amazing proposal with your help. So in conclusion, I do not deserve to propose on the air, but April deserves the best and an amazing proposal." I won the chance, recorded my heartfelt proposal with a song I wrote for her playing in the background of the church nursery where we spent 4 hours of our first date just talking and learning about each other. Then on Valentine's Day the tv station hid a camera at her work (she and I had to work V-Day), and at 7:13 pm they aired my proposal. I surprised her with a dozen red roses (her favorite) and as we sat in the break room talking the proposal came on. She said yes, and we were shown on the evening news that night to an audience of 300,000 or more. We also made the front page of the newspaper. Then when I gave her the ring (custom made so it took longer than planned) I brought her back to the nursery that was lit with candles and I sang for her a song I wrote for her. I then gave her the ring and reproposed to her.

I actually proposed to my boyfriend while we were on vacation in Paris. He isn't the romantic type so I figured he wouldn't even consider the fact that we were on our way to the most romantic city in the world. I had planed to ask him while having dinner in the restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower but there were no available reservations. So, I booked us for a evening dinner and dance boat cruise on the Seine River which left from just below the Eiffel Tower. The dinner was absolutely fabulous and so was the atmosphere. When dessert arrived, I told him not to touch it and produced a little box, which I also told him not to touch. I took out a letter to read to him (which I then proceed to ball my eyes out because I was so emotional). I read him the letter which ended with "Will You Marry Me?". And then told him to open the box (which had a picture of a gold watch to be picked up when we got home). He was floored and so happy. He said he had been thinking about us getting engaged but just couldn't come up with the right way to do it. It was the most amazingly romantic evening ever. When the boat docked we walked around the Eiffel Tower as it is so romantic because it sparkles on the hour every hour for about 5-10mins. Its amazing.

When we got home he told me that I wouldn't be getting an engagement ring until later because he wanted to surprise me. Well about a month and a half later we are walking on the beach during the evening and he gets down on one knee and proposes. I was totally shocked because I didn't know how he had gotten the ring without me knowing.

So we had a double proposal so I think that has to be the most romantic way to go.

My boyfriend of 6 years proposed to me when we were alone at my parents house right before a huge family get-together. It was a simple, sweet, down on one knee with ring in hand proposal, but the fact that he had planned the get-together specifically for that day without me knowing (I thought we were just having a family dinner at my grandparents) was so romantic. We got to spend a while alone together as we drove to my grandparents house and then spend the evening celebrating with everyone.

He works at a radio station in the middle of our downtown region. There is a large scrolling digital marquee sign wrapped around the building. We were on our way back from lunch one day, when all of a sudden we were across the street and he had to tie his shoe. I look across the street, and suddenly the sign is blank and then says, "I love you, Shauna. Will you marry me?" I looked over, and he was down on one knee with the ring box open and waiting for my acceptance. Cars started honking and people on the street starting clapping all over the place. It was awesome!

It happened when we were home from Christmas break from college. It was January 1st around 8:30 in the morning, and my dad walked in my bedroom to give me an envelope with the letter "L" on it. I had no idea why he felt the need to wake me up to read something, but he did. I opened it and it was a letter from my boyfriend telling me good morning and how much he loved me. He then asked me to meet him at our old high school where we first met, there would be a clue for my next place to go. I jumped up and got dressed and sprinted out the door. My next envelope had an "O" on it, it was another very sweet letter that sent me to the restaurant that we had first had dinner at 5 years ago. When I pulled up it was a huge surprise, he had our best friends (who are married) drive all the way in from where we go to school (5 hours away) I was completely surprised and crying like a baby. They gave me my next clue with the letter "V" on the envelope. Yet again was another lovely message sending me to his home, I pulled up and his mom answered the door giving me my last and final clue, envelope "E" sent me to the church where we will be married. Crying my eyes out and driving through the tears, I pulled up at the church where he stood with 20 long stem red roses. Our friends stood far away in the parking lot taking pictures the entire time. He pulled out one final envelope that talked of how he sent me to all of the places we shared together, and we were now in a new place where we would begin our lives together (the church). He got down on one knee and gave me the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. I of course said yes!! The envelopes spelled out LOVE...they are so cute. After all of this he took me back to his house where all of his family and all of mine were there waiting with a huge sign in the yard and a beautiful lunch and cake. It was such an amazing day. I am for sure a lucky girl. Did you actually read all of this? HA.

Thanks for allowing me to remember such a wonderful day. :)

I was in the process of making a scrapbook of us. One night he showed me a scrap layout he made with photos of us, some embellishments, and it had a small envelope covered by a heart. During my excitement over the page, he slid the ring out of the envelope, and asked me to marry him.

Well i kind of answered a question like this yesterday so i will just copy and paste it:

It was funny cause he tried to make it so romantic. He took me to this gazebo by his house. I was sick as a dog and it was freezing outside. Well, we started walking up to the gazebo that was all decorated in lights and was gorgeous but we were walking through mud on the way up!!! So our shoes and bottoms of our pantlegs were covered with mud! (I'm sure that wasn't part of the romantic plan...) I'm glad the whole thing didn't turn out "perfect". Now i have a funny story to go along with one of the greatest nights of my life! I think it gives character and was perfect for us!!

My husband booked two seats on a boat with dinner. It was the 4th of July so he waited till the fireworks were going off and he got down on one knee.

My man and I just love amusement parks...roller coasters, thrill rides, etc....
On our mutual birthday, on a roller coaster while going up the first hill, he popped the question.
Of Course I said yes.
