Unfortunately H. Pylori is a very difficult infection to fight. It was just recently discovered that H. Pylori is to blame for some stomach ulcers, because it was thought that stomach acid would kill any bacteria.

Because H. Pylori is so strong and resistant, it is difficult to treat, and many people need more than one course of treatment. That's probably the reason your doctor didn't retest you, if you had the same symptoms as before.

There are different courses of treatment that have been shown effective against H. Pylori. If you still have symptoms after this course of antibiotics, ask your doctor if another course of treatment would be appropriate. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

Unfortunately the treat for H. pylori is not just antibiotic. The therapy invoves an antibiotic for 14 days with both a H2 blocker and proton pump inhibitor both to reduce the gastric contents in your stomach. sometimes it does take a little bit longer to treat. But it is improtant to have the stomach acid reducers.
