No, this is not true.
The things of this material world ultimately mean nothing; but Jesus is not necessary for real peace.

This is an interesting question. Infact during the time of the prophet of Islam there was dispute among the Christians and the Jews concerning Abraham. The Jews claimed that Abraham was Jewish and that they were following his religion, and the Christians made a similar claim. Thus as a result the following verses were revealed to the prophet, recorded in the Quran: "O People of the Scripture(Christians and Jews), why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason? Here you are - those who have argued about that of which you have [some] knowledge, but why do you argue about that of which you have no knowledge? And Allah knows, while you know not. Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah(God) ]. And he was not of the polytheists. Indeed, the most worthy of Abraham among the people are those who followed him [in submission to Allah ] and this prophet, and those who believe [in his message]. And Allah is the ally of the believers."-Quran So what I'm trying to say is that the same goes for Jesus and all the other prophets from Adam to Mohammad. Muslims believe that the religion of God,since the creation of the first human, Adam, is ONE RELIGION, and that it was just evolved and revealed by prophets/messangers of God as time passed, and that the last and final prophet was Mohammad who was given the Quran which we believe is the Last Testament.

It seems that forming sentences certainly doesn't come from a knowledge of God.
As far as your premise, it's not true. I know many people who have peace without Christ, and I know many people who spread violence and discontent that are Christians.
Some claim that "real" peace comes only from Christ, but they have yet to show me any difference in quality or quantity of peace or serenity as comared to others.

We have a choice to make. When we Christians say that we have found truth,we are talking about the person, Jesus Christ. Other people can find other truths. Christianity is based on something what happened in history. I believe I have found truth and peace and love in Jesus. : )

Considering that those who have found Jesus Christ are constantly warring with other religions, not to mention sects within their own religion, I don't think you can say they've found real peace.
