We grilled some deer burgers that were pretty good. We also grilled some cuts ( look like tenderloins possibly- hunks of meat) The grill died down before they were cooked thouroghly and I don't want to waste it. I was thinking maybe a chilli or something since it needs to finish cooking. Any ideas and is it safe to eat the leftover meat?

Well as long as you refridgerated it asap it should be good. I used to live up north in my younger years and in the winters thats all we had to eat so I have a few ideas. If it is tenderloin you can spice it with some lemon pepper seasoning and roll it in flour then fry it which gives it a great taste. (really depends on your taste buds) Or you could do the above and then get a packet of gravy from the store, the kind you just add water too and mix it right in the pan with the meat after the meat is done. It makes a great meat and gravy meal with mashed potatoes for a side! Also if you like alittle spice try some cruched red pepper as well.
When cooking it on the grill try marinating it in some soy sauce for 1-2 hours before cooking, gives it a great taste! Hope this helps. Good Luck and Good eating!

I have eaten deer meat all my life. My husband got his first one ever when deer hunting started & we did all sorts of things with the meat. the big pieces we cut into cubes & rolled them in flour & then fried them. We also know you can put it in chilli, although we know our friend uses the ground meat for that. you could probably throw it in a pan & fry up the rest of it. You can cook deer meat any way you want to, it's like cooking any other meat, so you shouldn't have a problem with that. If its only cooked part way, then I would suggest you try putting it in flour & frying the rest of it, it tastes really good that way. Use small amount of oil & on medium heat. I really hope this helps you out, & I hope you enjoy your meat! =0)

My dad Is a Deer hunter and we always have it on hand. You can take the peices of meat and chopp them up in to alittle bigger than bite sized pieces, roll them in flour (like you would for cube steak), And put it in a pan on a med-low heat. B/c deer meat should be cooked slowly. After then meat starts to look brown add Green Bell peppers and oinions(if Desired) then add more flour and milk to make a gravy. I love this when my dad makes it. It is soooo good.

If the venison was properly stored after cooking, then yes, it's perfectly safe. Cutting it into chunks and adding to another dish such as spaghetti, chilli, goulash or other dish would taste great, but you can also finish cooking it on the stove in a pan or by baking it in the oven.

And may I mention I'm quite jealous! I grew up on venison in Michigan and it's a rare treat anymore...

Stew or chilli is a good idea. If you have kept it in the cooler then its fine. I'd even fire up the coals tonight and finish the job then slab the meat on a roll with a little mustard and Hmmmmmm

Some people fancy it but it is not a common meat variety! Left over 'cooked' meat, if properly stored, cooked and a bit spiced, can be eaten again but make sure it is well heated!

A stew is really good too. Or toss some of it in a crock pot for about 8 hrs. and it will be super yummy and you can do all kkinds of things with it. it might be good on top of a salad too.
