I have always wanted to travel and this year I will be 21 and I wanted to do something different for once. I want to move to London and work their. I can really gain a different experience by living and working and visiting London all together. I'm young and I’m ready to experience life at its fullest I’m an inspiring script writer all I know is what is here in California I’m not closed minded but very open to new things I just want something else then what I already have. I was thinking of just staying for the summer or 3 months but depending how everything goes I may stay longer. But I need to know what I need to do to make this happen. What do I need I know I need a work visa and entry clearance but how do I go about doing this. I am an American Citizen born and raised in California I’m 20 years old I’ll be 21 late next month. Anyone who can give me detail as to what I should do would help me so much.

It will be tough unless you are going over there through a company you already work for. If you have a special skill that would be beneficial to them to have you then you can get a permit too. Like doctors, nurses, lawyers. Sounds like you are none of those. They will most likely not legally let you work there. I guess you could work under the table as a waitress of bar tender. Or as a last resort, marry someone British. P.S. I am an American who lived over there for school and have been back 5 times. They are very strict about this.

You need to find a volunteer program to accept you. You'll be allowed to work over there for 1 year. They won't pay you, but they'll pay for your meals and living quarters. That's the only way they'll accept you.
