ok i have a few questions:
1. how long and what do you have to do to get a passport?
2. where are nice places to go? I am thinking some place in north america- a beach is a must (no kids included)
3. where can i find some good package deals?
If you can answer one or all of these questions that would be great.

1. You can apply here for a US passport. http://travel.state.gov/passport/forms/ds11/ds11_842.html
It will take about 3 months to be delivered.
2. The best beaches in North America are in Cancun or Acapulco, Mexico.

It can take up to 2 months to get a passport now. Their pretty backlogged with all the people rushing out to get one. If you want it quickly, you need to pay extra.
As for good places to visit, go to your local travel agent.
