Well my boyfriend was an online boyfriend, that's how we met, he was really nice, sweet and funny, and he didn't portray him self and something he wasn't.
I think that's something that's really important, being who you are, alot of people (guys and girls) portray them selves as something different and when you actually meet them, you're disappointed.
So be who you are, and you'll meet someone, also, I think it's best to meet someone around you, online is a cool place to look for a girlfriend, but it's nothing better than meeting someone face to face, then there are no expectations.
Good Luck

I personally wouldn't participate in online dating. To me its a waste of time and could turn out to be a very bad move.

to me it would really depend. like online as in long distance i don't think i would be able to do that, because none of them last. you can't expect much because you are talking to him through the computer. try and date someone that you can see. it will be fine.
