I realize that this software is hidden on the computer, but there has to be a way to detect it. Is there any software out there available to do this? Any tips or tricks?

any kind of legit spyware scanning software can find keylogging activities, as can some virus programs (as long as they load keyloggers into their virus definitions) and most adware programs as well. I use Zone Alarm personally (the security suite) and it finds this stuff immediately. Other good ones include Norton and McAfee, and there are probably many others.

Just make sure whatever you go with updates regularly, as trojans and keyloggers and such programs change slightly to get around the security programs.

Spy bot search and destroy will do it also. I recommend using a couple of spy ware programs to look for it. Each one has its own definitions, and one may pick up a program that the other doesn't.

Spy bot is free also.
