Umm..no, specially if you have asthma. Bleach does work to clean it off but where is the mold coming from. Its very dangerous to breath that in. Do you have a local health inspector? Call them. I am from Quebec and we have something call the regie de rente..we call there when we have a problem with landlords..do you have something like that there? Call them, they will tell you what to do. You should do it right now! Good luck..hope there are no kids there too...

Black mold can be very dangerous. Move out, if you can. Call the local health department if you are stuck in the apartment for awhile and see what they recommend. Yes bleach will temporarily remove the surface mold, but it's probably all over the place inside the walls. Take pictures of the mold in case you and the landlord get into a legal dispute over it. Document your phone calls with the date, time, and name of the person you spoke to.

No it is not safe, especially if you have breathing problems. Has he provided a source for the mold, given you a reason as to why it is appearing? Tell him that you have spoken to someone in the Landlord Tenants Act and they are giving him the option to solve the problem within 30 days or they will be coming to do an investigation. That will kick his but into gear. Be firm, you have the right to live in a clean and mold free home. It can cause health problems, epecially if you already have breathing related problems such as asthma.

Black mold is very dangerous especially with someone with asthma. I would discuss with your landlord if he could have someone come in to clean up the mold. Chlorine bleach does remove mold, but if it is extensive, it must be professionally done, plus the fact that you have asthma and shouldn't be that close to it. If the landlord refuses to clean up the mold, then I would suggest you have someone come in to do it. If you can move out, do it as you are living in a dangerous situation especially if there are children around too.

Black mold can be toxic. Call the health department or a mold company ASAP. Your landlord will have to pay for the mold company. But today I would leave the house. This is nothing to play around with. It's been there a long time. It will give you bad headaches and with asthma it will affect your breathing. Do something today!!!!
