Because the real TRUTH involves actions you must take. It involves thing you must START doing, and things you must STOP doing.
People don't want to 'know too much' because then they will have either a guilty conscience their whole life, or have to change things. God forbid we actually change and start doing what's right.

Self-sparing religiously-lazy people will respond to your question and say "What truth?" "There is no real truth" or "Who says YOUR truth is real truth?" and things like that, in fact as soon as I submit this answer, I guarantee that will be the case. Whatever lets you sleep at night people...

Which truth? Your truth? My truth? Biblical truth? Islamic truth?

There are a lot of truths out there. Personal truths are not truths, but opinions and religious truths are circuitously self-substantiating.

I assume your truth has something to do with GOD and JESUS and all that. I don't give a hoot about it because it's based on irrational, self-contradictory fiction. Even if I felt there might be some benefit there, I'd lose all respect for myself for buying into something that dumb. There are at least a couple of billion other people on Earth that feel pretty much the same way to a lesser or greater degree.

There is no "truth". You will be a slave to the "truth" until you let it go. Live your life in accordance to observable reality and you'll have a lot fewer problems, and won't waste time and energy worrying about why other people don't buy your "truth".

We're not interested in "the truth" because it's untrue.

Because there is no Truth. The idea of Truth is based upon some abstract idea that there is an inalienable, perfect absolute. This is not the case. Truth is a pipe-dream because Truth is based on reality which is based on perception, and perception is falwed. Therefore reality is flawed and there can be no Truth by definition if it is flawed. There is only truth (lowercase "t") because truth is relative, much like reailty and perception. There is no Truth, and anyone who tells you differnetly is selling something.

You could also ask, why isn't the whole church interested in the Truth. I mean the Truth Himself, Christ the Lord. Rather than church growth, get rich schemes, ministry success, etc.
See how poorly attended the prayer meetings are!

Because with Truth comes great responsibility and the most horrid realization that we are not gods.

After all, who really wants to see that they are proud monsters of iniquity in rebellion against a loving, holy, omnipotent, and just God?

And yet, far better is it to be God's than it is to be gods.

The world is interested in the truth, but the real question is, what is the truth? Everyone has a different perspective of the truth.

I think we are interested in the truth. The problem is that the truth has nothing to do with religion...

Preoccupied with this life to be concerned about the next.
But it is the promise of God that everyone will have the opportunity to hear the truth whether they want to or not.
Those who don't have the opportunity are plucked away and taken to heaven. But all will hear the truth. Free will, its a choice you have to make once you hear it. The only ones that go straight to heaven without hearing it, are kids or folks without the mentality to understand free will and choice.

If any body want to know the truht about the bible they should go to the bible and see what God have to say on the subject wouldn t you agree. So let see what God have to said.

2 Timothy 4:3, 4 3 For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the wholesome* teaching,+ but according to their own desires, they will surround themselves with teachers to have their ears tickled.*+ 4 They will turn away from listening to the truth and give attention to false stories.

God said that they would listen to false stories, but what are some of these false stories. Let see what God say about the dead and what happen to us when we die, since a lot of religion say when we die we go to heaven or hell.

God explained what happens when we die when he spoke to the first man, Adam. Because Adam was disobedient, God said to him: “Dust you are and to dust you will return.” (Genesis 3:19) Before God created Adam “out of dust from the ground,” Adam did not exist. (Genesis 2:7) Likewise, when Adam died, he returned to dust and ceased to exist. God didn t tell Adam that he was going to heaven or hell but back to dust from the ground that he was taking from. So there are bible truth out there you just need to seek it. Because 1 John 5:19 We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.+

Because truth today has become relavant, and not absolute. Truth for one is not necessarily truth for another.

There is an absolue truth if you seek it.
