Hmmm, no Christians do not have to say this. God does not "allow" people to die, God does not "give" people illnesses, God does not cause "destruction of countries and people." God is not running around smitting this person and healing that.
We live in a world where bad things happen, that does not mean God is less then perfect. Why because we live in a world of people and have human frailties. We are the ones less then perfect and God just wants to love and comfort us.
You say God does not exist, ok then you must believe in an alternative theory such as evolution, which would tell you things change, life cycles run it course, we ever evolve. To live one must die this not denied by religion or science.
I am sorry for your loss though

God is perfect. The problem is he is too big for us to comprehend all his actions. The world was perfect in the beginning. Since we have free will (we are not slaves to God) we make choices all the time. As a result some of these choices have resulted in sin in the world. With the introduction of sin in the world (Adam and Eve eating of the fruit) it introduced death and conflicts etc. That is the price of sin. However, that would be changed for those that believe in Christ. It was through Christ's death we will have a perfect life when we die. I know it doesn't make the loss of any loved much easier but it can provide some explanation as to why things happen. I hope this helps.

I want to say I am sorry that you suffer because of the loss of your friend. But your misunderstanding of God, comes from not having learned very much about Him.
We live in a dangerous world. It is not dangerous because of God, it is dangerous because of the enemies of God. You can see genuine example of good when the firemen risked their lives in New York to save people on 9-11. But they did this because God's goodness lives in their hearts and they do not become bitter when they suffer losses.
There would be no good at all left in this world if God was not hard at work in it. The enemies of God have grown very powerful in this time. We are fortunate that the earth is still in orbit around the sun and the oceans are still filled with water.
The Lord God says in the Bible that He will be the victor. He says that when he removes the rod of the oppressors, people will see good, many for the first time. And they will know who is God.
I suggest you stay tuned for the changes in our own times. The times do not remain like this, they go from dark to light again. In the 1940's and 1950's our parents/grandparents knew God, they spoke to Him within the Church. These periods within history of distance from Him don't last for very long. And your friend will be cared for by God.
I know that when disasters happen, angels are there to help people. They often keep them from the trauma. And even if your friend died unbelieving, there is still much hope that God's mercy will work in his favor. We don't really know at what point God will intervene in a person's destiny.
Anyone who claims to know what God will do ultimately will be lying or misinterpreting His Mysteries, unless He himself lays out His Plan with definity. And potentially that isn't done because then the enemy would have it. Stay tuned and try to learn more about Him.
Here is what St. Augustine said:
For what flood of eloquence can suffice to detail the miseries of this life? Cicero, in the Consolation on the death of his daughter, has spent all his ability in lamentation; but how inadequate was even his ability here? For when, where, how, in this life can these primary objects of nature be possessed so that they may not be assailed by unforeseen accidents?
Their life, then, which is either subject to accidents, or environed with evils so considerable and grievous, could never have been called happy. [Yet,] if the men who give it this name had condescended to yield to the truth, and to be conquered by valid arguments, when they inquired after the happy life [in Christ Jesus, the Lord, they would have found that] Salvation, such as it shall be in the world to come, shall be our final and everlasting happiness.

I don't view death as an evil, or bad thing. Death happens to all of us, number is not a matter in death, it's a matter in the minds of people based on the way they view death. Death can be viewed as a beautiful thing, rather than a tragedy, for that person has finished what they needed to do in their life, and are now in a great place. Humans feel a sense of loneliness, or loss with death, but all that happens is meant to be.

Death is a part of life.....for every living thing.I'm not asking you to change your beliefs. It is your right to believe what you choose. But you do need to open your mind to the above fact.I do not know the circumstances of your friend's death, but God is not to blame for it.He didn't prevent his death, because it is a part of life.He may have other plans for your friend, that you are not to understand.I'm so sorry that you lost your friend.I know that kind of heartache. Keep your friend's memory in your heart and mind.Don't ever let them be forgotten. You have only lost your friend in body only.Their memory will forever remain with you.Hold on to it and cherish every day of your own life.

You're right, there is no god out there and no-one to prevent his death. Sorry, but death is a part of life. When I was 17 I lost my own sister, and I prayed and prayed to God not to take her. I know better now! (I was raised a Roman Catholic.)

God puts all of us here for a reason. We don't know what that reason is, only He does. We are here to complete a pre-assigned task. When we complete that task is when He takes us home to Heaven. Your friend's death WAS for a reason, we just don't what that reason was.
But, you can rest assured that God does, indeed exist, and that your friend is with Him now. And if you accept the fact that He exists, you will one day see your friend again.

I'm sorry your friend has died. It still doesn't prove or disprove the existence or goodness of God, though.
Often you'll understand the reason why life has taken a certain course years later, when you look back. Believe me, life isn't as meaningless as you think.
Btw, I love Cathy's answer!

If he dosen't exist, you must be god. If he was a god who had to answer to my every whim, I'd be god.
You are right. he doesn't exist.
not for you anyway because you needed him to perform in a certian way and he didn't.
I don't understand God. he doesn't do things the way I'd like.
he even said in the bible, "My ways are not your ways, my thoughts are not your thoughts.
as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
sorry you lost your friend dude.
that's the worst.
I wish God was more like me, but I think the goal is for me to become more like him, even if I don't understand him
Peace out dude.
