Is it okay to ask your boyfriend to stop being friends with a girl if she has a very bad reputation of 'getting around'?

I am pretty sure he would do anything for me, he knew I thought that what she was doing is wrong and stopped talking to her because of me but yesterday he saw her when he was with me and she started to yell at him for not talking to her...so I told him that he should be friendly, but now I think it is better off that they dont talk to each other.

Well, I'm not sure. My best opinion is this......if your concerned about it, then talk it over with him. Tell him of the "gossip" you've heard and that you're a bit concerned about his reputation for hanging with her. Let him know that you trust him completely (cause you better , if your relationship is going anywhere) but you just don't want people starting ugly rumors about him. Tell him that if you ever had a friend that he felt was of "questionable" character, you'd want to know, because he's the one who's watching your back and is most important. But whatever you do......Never forbid, or demand him to stop being friends with her. Hope it helps, wish you well!

hm...First, I would question him more about her. How often do they hang out? Talk? Are you SURE she has a bad rep, or is that just a rumor?
Ask those questions first before you ask him to stop for the reason being: it may hurt him (you could lose him) if you just come out and tell him to stop.
I would talk to him and let him know how you feel about his talking/hanging out with this other woman...tell him you feel uneasy and are a little worried. Its not that you dont trust him (right?) you just dont trust her.
Depending on how long you 2 have been going out, I think its ok to ask something like that. I asked that same Q to my bf of 2 yrs...and he quit talking to her all the time---they still talk occasionally, but not often because it makes me feel uneasy (shes a freak!) =)

A "rule" like that is only fair if you follow thru with it yourself. If youre not keeping around any questionable friends then by all means tell him to stop befriending her. You have to stand your ground but if you dont know her personally its wrong to assume the rumours are true. Everyone should be given a fair humane chance. Dont just follow what is going around.

No. It would be jealousy and that's not respect. Either you're in or you're out, if you're jealous you should confront him positively and respectfully about it. Perhaps he would never give her the time of day in a "romantic" light. Feel him out on the subject and then decide if he is what you want or not, but never request something out of jealousy.

Its ok to ask that, but if you don't know for sure that her rep is true you might be acting a little hastily

well, when confronted with an adverse situation where there are variables you can not control, just ask politely that the b*tch backs off

No because if you trust him there shouldnt be a problem. I think you might be alittle insecure

well you will probably lose your bf and he might sleep with her and hang out with her more just to rub it in your face.
