I am looking for a good recipe for butter tart.
I tasted it once in Ontario, but I cannot find a recipe which gives the same result : an agreable and tastfull product. You know that there is a lot of grease in it, but it does not taste it.

Butter Tarts

Heat oven to 425F
Use 3" tart shells & put 14 on a cookie sheet.
Divide 1 c. of currants or dark raisins between the 14 tart shells.
1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten

Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in corn syrup, brown sugar, vanilla & salt. Stir well until the sugar is melted. Whisk in the beaten egg and continue mixing until the butter is well mixed in. Fill each tart shell about 2/3 full.
Bake for about 20 minutes until pastry is golden.
I've doubled this recipe with good results.
