In the book of Job, Satan came before God in order to ask permission to torment Job. There's nothing Satan can do to us that God doesn't allow him to do for one reason or another. Satan is still an angel and recognizes God's authority. Sometimes God allows us to go through things in order to shape and mold our character. That's not always the case, but it's one of the reasons God allows bad things to happen to us at times.

God is not "mad" at anyone, but satan put himself on the same level with God, even though he is a created being and can never be a god.

God lets satan roam the earth to test and try us.

In the book of Job, the angel was called "HaSatan" which means "The Accuser". In this scenario the angel was merely the equivalent of a prosecuting attorney. Accusing a pious man of being flawed. The character was intended to be the antagonist in the story. It was not until the late 1st to early 2nd century that "christians" created the ridiculous idea of an "INCARNATION OF EVIL".

This idea (along with Hell) was created to take away responsibility from the "christian" sinner and at the same strike fear into uneducated people to keep them herded into church pews.

No he didn't come to present himself as a son, but came into God's presence as the accuser to try and tempt someone away from God, but notice he had to have God's permission before he could do anything to one of God's own.

Satan is jealous of God, thinks he knows better.
He went to God about Job because of his jealous nature.
(that is one of satan's biggest sins that and arrogance)
But God proved to him that he was once again, wrong by
allowing Satan to test his faith.
Job got tremendous testing and went through some terrible
injustice and then God made it justice in the end by giving him more than double the life he had prior to Satan's test.

Don't know about the mad part, but Satan is an angel. He has free roaming priviledges. I wonder if he ever regrets his decision to leave heaven and try to be God.

what do you think? you got devils and angels mixing around.

Probably they were mad but in the presences of the big man, both sides cooled it.
