The photos will stay in the 16MB internal memory, but your camera probably has some software included with it that will allow you to move these photos from your internal memory onto your memory card.

Hello. I'm not sure what kind of digicam you've got, but I would think it's similar to what I had. Usually the images stored in the camera's memory would be separate from what you've on a memory card. There's no way to actually combine both so to have more storage. You'll have to take out your card and then plug in the usb cord to bring stored images to your hard drive... and then replace the card and get the images again from that source. I'd recommend not using the internal memory unless you really needed to, and so it's less hassle and more streamlined. Don't forget to format your card from time to time (even after deleting the whole card) so you won't get "ghost images" or an image saying "unsupported image" on the screen. Good luck and I hope this helps.

If you have already taken photos prior to putting in a memory card, the pictures will remain in your internal memory until you move them or delete them. However, if you have not taken any pictures yet, once you put in a new memory card all of your new photos will be stored onto that card. Moving photos from your camera is an easy task. Most cameras come with some sort of photo management software. install the software. Use the USB cable that came with your camera and hook it up to your computer. You will be able to transfer photos from your internal memory onto your pc. if your photos are stored on your memory card, you can transfer those photos by usb cable also or you can purchase a "card reader". hope this helps :)

The memory card just adds to your cameras memory, so whatever pics are on the 16mb chip will stay in the camera, but you'll have more memory added to that.

the camera should ask you which memory you want to use (internal or memory card) when you put the card in the camera. if not check the settings in the menu. its just like your mobile you can store contacts on the phone memory or the sim card or both. check the manual.
