When you travel on an aeroplane, you cant take aerosols and stuff. Does the same thing apply travelling by ferry.

i live in the orkney island and regularly use ferries and i,ve never known of any rules on what not to take

You are restricted on the amount of camping gas containers you carry, also spare petrol/diesel. I don't know of any further restrictions that the ferry companies impose but it would be as well to check with the ferry company for current rules. There are probably some restrictions on what you can take into the Irish Republic as there are in the UK. They are usually to do with food and plants. As before check it out before you go. I have been back most years and have not encountered any problems, I guess we are a pair of regular, normal campers!
