It never seems to fail, you drive away without getting what you ordered. Don't you think McDonalds is making a ton of money off of this every day? The food costs increase for the managers the more food they "gain" by not giving it to you with your order. This increases their bonusus and therefore encourages it.

I am beginning to wonder, I hate to have to check the take-out order every time I go thru a drive-thru, but I do. I even got to the extreme of shutting off my vehicle in the drive-thru and going in to the fast food eateries to complain to the manager. I also follow up the complaint with a written letter to both the store and the company. I have gotten certificates for free food and they even messed up that order. So check the order every time.

Hello:

I personally believe that they do this on purpose to be a smart alleck towards the customers!! I ALWAYS,ALWAYS,ALWAYS,check my order before I leave the drive thru,I don't care how many cars are behind me in line!! EVERYTIME I go through the McDonald's drive thru,it is amazing how they just happen to,"forget,"the french fries that I paid for,or the extra burger that I paid for!! Trust me,ALWAYS check your order before you leave there, because they will TRY to cheat you out of food everytime!! :-(

We started tying up the drive through line to check our order after so many wrong ones. If enough of us did that.....someone would start to take notice and maybe something would be done.

Drive-thru accuracy is lower than at-the-till accuracy because they are on a stricter time limit for the drive-thru. People make more mistakes when rushed. And you probably won't drive back to correct them.

They don't do it intentionally (well, maybe some of them do). But I always check the bag before I pull away from the window.
