I picked up a Muscle and Fitness Magazine last night that talks about getting lean and not bulky. Try to find it in stores now.

It said to eat more protein, less carbs (the white starches), and watch your fats and calories.

You should be taking in an average of 13-14 calories per pound, 1 gram of protein per pound, and 20-30 percent of your calorie intake a day.

With that guidance, it also gave a food schedule that you could follow if you chose to. Or you can just figure out what you're allowed each day and go by that. It's up to you.

It gave a lot of great tips like:

Doing cardio on an empty stomach is best for fat-burning results.

Going to bed just after eating some protein is best.

Eating the bad carbs after your work out is good for you. (3 slices of white bread)

You should really go out and buy this magazine. It has a great exercise plan, meal plan and tips on what to do. Unfortunately it's a 4 week plan, and you have two. But maybe you'll see the results in two.. I don't know.

If you want to go to their website you can see what the magazine looks like. I don't think you can read about it online unless you have a subscription.

good luck with your weight loss.

Best way to lose body fat is HIIT Sprints, sure you've heard of them. Try this Week 1 mon, wed, and fri- 100metre sprint 70%-80% effort 1 min recovery. Repeat 7 times Week 2 mon, wed, and fri -100metre sprints 70%-80% effort 1 min recovery. Repeat 10 times Week 3 return to 7 reps, but Decrease recovery time to 40 seconds. Then week 4 repeat 10 times. And so on HIIT Sprints work by burning fat and holing muscle, as opposed to long distance that could end up using muscle as an energy source. Try this alongside weights and see if it works. Good luck and sorry for the lengthy answer! And in terms of shakes i agree with the slim fast as they can if necessary be used as a meal replacement shake!

Eat less! If you're going to the gym, increase your CV work and keep doing the weights as well. Try and eat food with less residue and low carb's / fat.

Essentially reduce your calorific intake without compromising your health / muscle structure, more fruit and "soft veg" (carrots, etc) and less starch / high carb / fat stuff.

I found that eating little or no bread helped as well. Same for potato's, white rice, etc... You might not see any effects for a week or so though so keep at it until the end...

stop bulking up in the gym and start doing cardio vascular exercises, like running, rowing, cross trainer, bike,

or i found which a lot of people don't like is the Atkins diet, as long as you do it correctly, i lost a stone in 2 weeks.

its a great short term diet but not a long term.

good luck

Keep excercising, eat healthier.
Eat correct portions and more fruits and veggies.
Less meat with alot of fat in it. (Turkey and fish)
Eat only whole grain bread.
The less calories you eat, the more you lose. But don't go under 1,200 calories. (Slows your metabolism)

Alternate your regular excersize with interval running. One minute slow walk, one minute slow jog, one minute fast jog, one minute run, one minute run at max speed and then do this over and over for 30 mins.

Also, try to do your weight training at a faster speed as it will increase the fatburn as well.
