I've been working out non-stop for years (not taking a break from weightlifting). I've gotten great results (muscle mass) but my joints began to ache and I decided to take a month off so my body would heal. My last workout day was March 6st and my target date for return is on April 1st. My body is feeling better and I may want to return on the 26st. Have I taken off long enough or should I stay with my target date. I'm afraid that I might lose what I have achieved.

Don't rush yourself back to the gym when you have injuries. Many people try to work through pain, which can lead to serious injuries and end up keeping you out of the game for a longer time. Here are a couple things to note.

Muscle mass actually starts to decrease and shrink after 3 days if not worked on again. However before you panic and run off to the gym keep in mind that this effect is minimal. In fact a recent study took a group of men in peak physical condition and had them stop working out for 6 months. After the 6 months were over they began their programs again. And while their muscle mass had certainly decreased, they had regained the majority of it within 3 weeks.

The point of the study was to show that muscle mass doesn't turn into fat if you're out of the game for a little while. It can and will get smaller, but with hard work you can regain your form in a short amount of time. Keep with your target date and if you feel comfortable, you'll be back into your program in no time. Hope that this answers your question!

I in my view could had been going to do mild wordouts even by way of the bloodless, you'll take an afternoon or 2 off, however except you will have like a flu or anything you will have to be nontoxic going again to the health club every time you consider youve regained your force.... But in case your on the health club and you do not consider like you'll do it, wait a further day or so.

Stay with your target date and when you return realize that you will have to drop down in your weights a little - don't go back to lifting the same weights that you finished off with - you won't have to drop much, but a little so your body can slowly get back to par.
