My husband and I want to take a short trip to the Caribbean this summer. I need advice as to when is the best time to go and where should we go. If you also have tips on cheap but nice hotels or maybe even some out of the way B&B's, that would be great too! Actually, anything you can tell me would be great!

Thanks!

If your looking to fly to an island, and stay there primarily, then I would suggest the caymans. Its a safe island, beautiful, and the prices aren't too bad. I wouldn't suggest going to Jamaica, b/c I hear mixed feelings on the place. If you go to Jamaica, your best off staying at a realy fancy resort, like Swept Away, or something ike that. But if your only going for four days, you should try a Club Med. They are the best (expensive) but you are getting your moneys worth. They have Club Meds all over the caribbean. I would also suggest a cruise that stops at a couple places, so you can see the best of the caribbean. Whatever you do, be sure to check Tripadvisor.com to see reviews, and pictures that real travelers thought of the hotel/resort you plan on staying at. That website is really good. B/c the hotels.com, and expedia.com can bevery decieving with their photos of a hotel and descriptions. As far as weather, It really depends on where you go. Most caribbean islands are warm all the time, with the exception of bermuda and some others, so check weather.com to see what a certain place is like during the season you want to go. Have a good time!

You can go to Montego Bay, Jamaica and should definitly stay at Sandles resort. It is an ultra all inclusive, including water sport activities all the resturants, even the tips are included. Check out there websites. If you dont like Jamaica then i would recommend Cancun. It is lots of fun and a lot to do. Cancun, you dont have to stay in an all inclusive, since there is so much to do outside the hotels.

Curacao's a nice choise. It's pretty much outside the huricane belt (summer is kinda in the huricane season after all), has plenty of things to do, and is reasonably priced.
As for the Hotel, I would recomend you either the Curacao Breezes hotel, or the Habitat Resort. Both of the, especially the habitat resort, are very nice places to stay at.

To give you a heads up on the Cayman Islands there is nothing in-expensive about it. Very beautiful but not for the thrifty. If you want the B&B deal I would look to Costa Rica. Out of harms way. Rainy in the summer months but worth it.

Hurricane season starts June 1st-Nov 30th. Keep that in mind.
You don't say where you live but if you live on the east coast, I would recommend the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Puerto Rico, USVirgin Islands.

This is a nice travel site for hotels

I say the Cayman Islands. It's clean and safe and lots of fun. It's more expensive than Mexico or Jamaica but a much better place and well worth the little price difference. You will be very pleased with your stay in the Caymans.

Come to ANTIGUA - you won't regret it. Warm, friendly, inviting, accommodating people. 365 lovely pristine beaches, lots of day and night activities. Delectable local dishes and I recommend the Sandals all-inclusive resort, it's world renown. the sunsets are picturesque and the night sky is always brilliantly lit by millions of stars and a magnificent moon.
