and Isaiah 45:18: "For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited: “I am Jehovah, and there is no one else."

Psalm 115:16 -- that the heavens belong to God, and the earth was created especially for mankind.

Isaiah 45:18 -- that God didn't create the earth just for nothing. He wants it to be filled with mankind. And he is letting us know that he, and he alone is is God and that there is no one else, and his name is Jehovah.

Psalm37:29 is saying EXACTALLY what it is saying. The righteous will reside FOREVER upon the earth. Very clear scripture!

Matthew 5:5 Again another scripture where no interpretation can occur. The mild tempered ones will inherit the earth.

Yes, the earth will be given to us, because God created it just for his children. Since the beginning of Adam and Eve, God has wanted his children to live on this beautiful planet, earth. God never promised Adam a gateway into heaven if he disobeyed. The punishment was death. God has found a way for us to still live forever on earth, and that was through his Son, Jesus. His plans for his children to be in a Paradise on earth has not changed.

Isn't Jehovah the most loving Father!!!!!!!

Psalm 115:16 says that there is Heaven and even Heavens, I believe it refers to the parallel world, spiritual, where all the spirits go after living in this world. According to what I have learned about it, there is several levels of spiritual progress in that world. The more enlightened you are in this life, higher is the level you go to after death. That's it. This Psalm is the confirmation that there is life after death.

Isaiah 45:18: It is just saying that there is a God, his name is Jehovah, but that doesn't mean He doesn't listen to our prayer if I call Him just Father, Lord...

Psalm 37:29: The righteous will possess the earth, I think it means that we will progress though knowledge and wisdom, to the point that we will live here in peace and with love, after having lived several lives.

Matthew 5:5: What is mild-tempered ones? I tell you, those who forgive, who love and accept everybody without any distinction.

My religion is Spiritism.
Peace

Seems to be quite obvious that we were supposed to live on earth, NOT in heaven as is the popular belief;
under one true God who's name is apparently Jehovah;
and we were originally designed to live forever, so there must be a plan for that to still happen...otherwise what is the point of the bible in the first place?

If we don't believe what the bible says as a WHOLE, why believe any of it?

What do I think of? I think that the people who wrote these portions of the Bible were, understandably, limited by the world view of their times.

Regarding the first quote from Psalms, I think it is natural that people would see the earth as their dominion since they were the only conscious beings alive. Yet they didn't realize how haphazardly executing this dominion would destroy so much. It's sad but understandable that someone would write this scripture that gives religious justification for exploiting the earth's resources.

Regarding Isaiah, I think this is just the nutty ravings of a self-styled "prophet." Just because it happened 3000 years ago doesn't give any more credence to his delusions than someone today who claims to hear voices of god in their head.

Regarding the second Psalms quote, this is about as short-sighted as one can get, not to mention contradictory of several other Bible passages. Again, a product of its times.

The Matthew quote, to me, displays a warped morality. It says the rewards for "happiness" and "mildness" are material. What's wrong with being mild for its own sense?

I see it as a wonderful hope and a promise from God.

These show that the earth will never be completely destroyed cause God created it to be inhabited by men. Not just any men, but righteous, meek, and mild-timpered ones.

I love the scriptures you brought out. Thanks for brightening my day!

That the saved will inherit and live upon the new earth (we only go to Heaven until the new earth or the return of Jesus).

The Jews are to be resurrected and inherit the land.The Christians inherit the New Jerusalem which descends out of heaven.That's why Joseph was so insistant that his bones be carried back to Israel from Egypt.He wants to be raised in the Promised Land.

The earth, after the final judgment, will become Celestialized and we will dwell on it again, as it will be a "heaven" for those persons who have earned there place in heaven.

I interpret this as the Lord has given us this earth on which to live. We have a responsibility and a duty to care for it. But we should also remember that this world is tough and if we believe we will ultimately go to a better place.

How do you interpret them?
