It doesn't matter. Just as long as you are planted when you punch it'll work out OK. Never relie on a one punch KO either. Just keep the punches coming.

Yes. When you throw the jab with your left hand you want to push off the right foot. This will make you take a step with the left foot. Please don't just step though, you must ensure that you are pushing off the right toes and calf. That's where the power comes from. Then, when you throw the right hand you want to step and pivot on the right foot at the same time. The actual step distance though, is one to two inches, and the the foot pivots down and in while you are on the ball of your foot. Please don't come onto the right toes like a ballet dancer. This is a common mistake and it takes power off the right hand and throws the balance off. When you throw the left hook you want to pivot with the left foot, hip, and shoulder (pretty much the whole left side of the body). You can either step with this shot, or pivot on the spot, depending on your range.

MARRIAGE OF GRAVITY-allowing gravity to enhance the force of your strike.

This is an American Kenpo term, but it basically rings true. If you try to do the opposite, you will probably be sneaky, but you will take the effectiveness off of your punches. As you apply your foot to the ground, launch your punch off so that it lands right as your foot touches the floor.

Reapplying yourself to the ground adds the addition of gravity to your force plus speed punch. The punch will be much more effective that way.

Yes because the by moving your weight toward the target you are putting more power behind your punch.

Yes, of course. Just try it, it feels more natural that way. Just like a right handed QB will step with his left, and vice versa.
