I have had a staph infection for about 7 years now, originally got it from having surgery to have a cyst removed from my tailbone... I have been to several different doctors and specialist and nobody can help me. The antibiotics that they have put me on will clear them up for a couple weeks but it always comes back. I hear and have read that it can be deadly if not treated. I am to the point were I don't care anymore... I cant afford to see these doctors that aren't doing anything to help me. It is very frustrating and I am very self conscious about it... I have it on both sides of my inner thighs, also get a few under my bra strap, breast, etc. I will probably end up dying from this... but if it is caught in time they can treat it (hopefully) with really strong antibiotics... no matter what you do it will always be in your system and can come back at any time. My husband has never gotten it from me and as long as you take are of it and keep it clean it should not be contagious. Good luck!

that depends. It is not only in hospital or nursing homes anymore. It has spread out into society such as the althletic fields and schools. My daughter got this "boil" type thing on her leg. It got HUGE! it was like a zit only 50x worse..it had a big pussy top and was red around it and very sore. At first we tried to heal it ourselves, then when I couldnt get rid of it we went to the doctor. the doctor took a culture of it and it came back Staph. He gave her some meds and it went away. he did say that once it is in your system, it will always be there. So far she has had 4 of them, and each one leaves a dark scar where its been. read up on it. it can be passed from person to person by say not cleaning athletic gear after using it and someone else using the same gear with an open wound.

It depends on where it is located. Staph bacteria is what causes acne as well as boils etc so you can see that depending on where it is would determine how serious it is. It is an infection though so it does need to be treated.

Very serious! You need to see a Dr. if you have one, they give antibiotics for it, and they are painful too.
