it's not a matter of defending one's country, everyone should be proud of their roots and ancestry..it's a matter of presenting yourself to others. If for some reason you didn't get an adequate education don't spread it to others... your mob mentality is like a parasite slowly infecting the rest of the nation!! if you want to change things, racism and hostility is not the answer do it the proper civilized way... and if you are so proud of your country, why do you bring slavery up?? i thought society had gone through that already, you mean that the whole abolisionist era was for nothing?? are you saying that slavery still exists today?? i think not!

well katsuluver, i am not justifying ANY illegal activity from anyone!!! I am just trying to put across the fact that these type of questions only generate RACIST comments toward certain ppl... I am perfectly fine on your views against illegal immigration, i am not trying to change anyone's opinion, what i am trying to put across is the xenophibia that exists within these answers.. Instead of creating a productive solution to the questions beings asked, ppl answer in extremely derogatory terms... It's ok if you think illegal immigration is wrong, you are in all your right to have an opinion, i just think that one should view both sides of the spectrum instead of just lashing out hurtful words, this reminds me of a few decades ago that ppl were allowed to create unsulting words to label ppl of certain race.... don't you remember???

and YES! i am informed on both sides of the issues... and i know that everyone just creates an opinion based on whatever media source they can get their hands on... i for example have lived and have seen the issue upclose, and you can create any assumptions you want about me, i really don't care, the only thing i can tell you is that if i am not informed of something and if i don't see both sides of the issue then i keep my mouth shut!!

you are right not only on this section... but as everyday life racist commnets, looks, or anything involved with it happens... I am from another country and I am a US citizen, but this is not the way I would like my children nor myself or others in the country to view this subject.
I will also like to answer the questions for aangita.. as far as my knowledge and opinion goes..
(1) breaking the law?
that is not only for immigrants or others, americans as well break the law... and how the saying goes " you do the crime you do the time" this was an ignorant pov because it does not pertain to racism... People of all ethnicity, being lower, middle,upper, or no class at all break them in a everyday basis.. even you! and do u get caught?
(2) when was the last time you used anything in this country for free?
therefor those with no legal doc too pay for usage..rent,gas,car pmnt,food,school, clothes,medical expenses, what else? everything one uses everyone pays.. and pay taxes too. I can understand to the extent you are referring.. as far as citizens work and get the taxes, medicare , and social taken off our checks.. but that also applies to secure our retirement..(but that is another issue)
...when was the last time you used any facility for free?
(3) on the working issue, it is true there are alot of workers without req paper work.. but guess who makes that decision .. the american as well.. why? to save themselves money and they work the illegal citizen to the max! I have seen it happen.. it is true we go to school, pay for our education.. but they are really good jobs out there.. some people just believe that with an education you can fall into an ideal job.. everything works the way it has to be.. you start in the bottom and work yourself up, nothing is handed in silver platter.. the illegal workers will start at teh bottom.. stay in the bottom, pickup more work and still get pd for same under min wage...
(4) inadequate knowledge of spanish? is not an excuse, this country offers for everyone that wishes to learn not only spanish but any language you wish to become fluent in.. any schools and differ prg doo. So if you wish to go to any other country and apply ur skills there that should not be a problem, I came to this country knowing only spanish, now i know english, and also learned italian, now in the progress of learning german... So you see my goal is to one day go to Italy and Germany and work there couple of months and be able to speak it better and enrich myself with more knowledge. As far as the spanish under one belts.. some jobs do not req employees to speak with customers or even speak the language at all.. all you really need to understand is your job duties and complete them... So i do not think the language barrier is an important issue.. now i do not think anyone should leave the country.. biggots or not.. I just think we should all come to understand the necessity in other countries and why those not born americans and other immigrants decide to come here and follow a dream ..the goal we all share.. =)
ok... breaking the law.. does not only mean coming into this country illegal.. im talking about everyday casual law? if that is what it is.. if they are here illegal then ok i agree they should get deported but like everyone else why not allow them to a trial? see what they are here for? are they in good standings.. sometimes we have actual citizens breaking the laws.. they should deport them somewhere and allow those who really wish to be here and do something for themselves to do so... that is what i think.. as well

My bf is also mexican.. does not know the complete english language ..everytime he gets to study and review he does so.. we practice and has audio for his car.. so it is also in the person and if tehy are motivated to do so.. I did not say every one has to know spanish.. but u stated that if u go to that country not qualified... I was referring exactly to ur questions... =) i do agree with what you say some people just avoid the learning of the language.. they feel they can't do it and or do not have the time for it.. a lot of people have to work 2 or more jobs to bring food to the table and pay for other stuff and see as learning english not important... think about the legal residents that work..and do not have a education... If you have a job, speak english, have other qualities...yet do not have a degree? why should the over qualified with a degree not get the job right? so you see .. think of allll before u refer to just one comment.. laters and have fun in Japan!!!

I don't have any thought why that's going down. I do not know the way any person could realize that you just have been answering a query besides. Answer to PQ: Well first I could seem at my surgeon and say "how is that this viable"? Because I can not have youngsters within the state I'm in now. And if I was once I could seem at like a miracle has occurred. Then be grateful and a bit involved. three even as wow. Perhaps if you were better informed on the issues you wouldn't be so judgmental. There are racists yes but they are on both sides of the issue and offer nothing but hate and insults to the discussion.You tell us all, we are racists and try to be so self righteous. I know both sides of the issue. I read and answer the questions that I can help with or offer my views when asked. I am not now or have I ever been a racists but if that suits you to think that, then feel free to do so. The word is only a word. To be called a racists for objecting to the unlawful acts of ANYONE from ANY country is ludicrous.You are generalizing and stereotyping all of the people that don't want millions of illegal aliens in our country. That is our right as tax paying legal citizens. I don't care where the illegal alien is from or what color his/her skin is. According to your questlon you don"t sound very tolorent yourself. We live in America we have the right to voice our opinion, I think that this country is one of the most tolerant in the world, thats probably why you are here. You say that we are racist when we mention the law.A person from another country is an alien, to come across the border without proper documentation is illegal,does not that describe an illegal alien? It all starts out with respecting each other. If they want respect then it needs to start with their respecting the nation that THEY came to. I never told them to come here. When they insist on not learning the language because it is their "Heritage" that is BS...Spanish is an European language too...just like English. They don't learn English because they don't feel like they NEED to. Their actions speak louder than their words. If they are wanting a better life then do it the right way and not try to take advantage of the system...become LEGAL.
Did you know that when Amnesty was offered in the 1980s there were only about 1/3rd that took the offer? The others were either criminals or people who wanted to continue to break America's laws and work without paying taxes. Sad isn't it? But THIS is what the illegal aliens are.

Well, you are unclear on whether you think people are racist bigots for being against illegal immigration and furious that our government let it get this bad. I think that opinion is logical, economics and education based, and not bigotted at all.
However, there ARE a bunch of unnecessarily racist questions - on both sides. I don't think scolding them will stop it. I think just not responding is the best approach.

Because education in the U.S. is at an all-time low and Narcissism is at an all-time high. Sorry, but it's the truth.
Just look at ANY question posted asking what we should do about illegal immigrants and watch how many advocate violence AND how many thumbs-up they get for saying it, it's frightening.
When you try to say that there was a SIMILAR climate in Germany in the 1930's of blaming a group of people for all our problems they will give you howls of denial, and "explain" that THEIR answers were just a "joke".
They will tell you that you don't understand, "legal" immigrants are "good" and "illegal" ones are "bad". When you bang your head against the wall for weeks pointing out that a "legal" one flew a plane into the World Trade Center and an "illegal" one is washing dishes trying to make a better life for themselves, they still don't "get it".
I am a U.S. Citizen and this is NOT the America I want. But I fear I may be the ONLY one.........

..Over half of this website is filled with people with questions that concern them, and nice people out there come onto this site and answer those questions for people they don't even know! I admit there is some racism, but you sure as hell can't criticize people like that.
