My mother in law looks after my little girl while I work, she smokes and drinks (although shes only a little overweight) and she claims benefits - has done for 18 years, and she met a really nice guy on the internet who works real high up in the Government and they got along like a house on fire. It all fizzled out though cos SHE decided she wanted someone more down to earth.

If the guy you're meeting with can't see the real you (the one with the potential to do a good job), then he's not worth working for. As for you, don't worry about what everyone else thinks, worry about what YOU think about yourself. Self-esteem makes a huge difference to how you present yourself.

Good grooming, clean pressed clothing is always in good taste, smile, do some deep breathing, start a mantra to yourself, I think I can, I think I can. Our expectations get us into trouble, before we walk into the door. Stop projecting. Think positively. Good luck:)

you need a friend someone to encourage you to stop smoking, to encourage you to eat healthier and to excercise someone who can go for walks with you. there are tons of people who feel the same way you do and they are looking for someone to do the same for them you could be an encouragement to one another. you can't change yourself overnight but you can wear something nice, clean, pressed well fitting, fix your hair nice don't act like you don't think you are good enough for him -be confident. hey you sound like bridgette jones except for the grand daughter thing. watch that- it might lift you up. good luck!

i aint going to give you sympathy for being a smoker or being fat, i was a smoker and i was and am still a little fat, but...i gave up smoking to feel better and i am starting to go gym to feel better.
if you wanna feel better get off your bum and do stufff for yourself instead of trying to play the sympathy vote toward us on here!

What are you talking about? You are fat. You smoke. You take care of your granddaughter. You are going on a date and you wish you weren't fat?
So stop eating so much, quit the stupid fags and start exercising.
