In a recent incident in an AVRO aircraft at line up for T/O pilot realises jamming of brake pads and decides to switch of both engines. In a hurry he uses LP cocks and observes TGT of both engines shooting up and gets the fire warning signals for both the engines in the cockpit. Later on it's conformed that both engines are written off. What could be the reason for this? Is it because the Pilot used LP cocks instead of HP cocks for shuting down?

In case of emergencies shutdown has to be by HP cocks .
this confirms total cut off of fuel.
In this case fuel up to LP shut off valves in the pipelines ,might be the cause of fire.
