Ok I was using selsun blue cuz I had dandruff, for about a year and couple months. Now forgive me for my lack of knowledge, I don't know much about hair or never went to a doctor before about my hair. I'm 22 year old male.

I've been starting to notice some slight hair loss in the front of my scalp. It doesn't look like anything major, I mean I can still cover what's missing with the hair that's already there, but if you look carefully you can tell the back of my scalp looks a bit thicker than the front. I use to think I was seeing things and you know how sometimes people's hair can get messed up and you might see a bit of their scalp every now and then? That's what I thought it was.

I feel like a complete idiot, i was using selsun for a year, I didn't know what I was doing and nobody knew that I was doing this. I didn't even know you're not supposed to wash your hair EVERYDAY. So is this hair loss permanent or will grow back? I'm really worried now.

Forgot to mention:

Nobody in my family has gone bald, so I think this being hereditary can be ruled out.

So, my hair won't grow back even if I stop using selsun, switch to regular shampoo and wash every 2 days instead?

THIS IS THE ONLY CURE (AND ITS NATURAL) I´VE FOUND AFTER MANY YEARS OF RESEARCH. This is a reply I received from a 17 year old."I would like to thank u alot for ur answer , about getting bald, and i was amazed by the results,,,, it worked!!!! finally something worked, thank u very much," See my Best Answers:¨"Balding," "Losing hair," "Hair problem", dandruff, etc.
Despite what you read about genetics and other factors being cause, principal reasons are harmful shampoos and equally harmful medicated shampoos and medications which we then use to correct problem. We are seeing a hair loss epidemic in both males and females and its occuring at ever younger ages - as young as 14 and 15. We compound the problem by over washing hair - some do so everyday - and that is promoted by shampoo manufacturers. Do a Google search "washing hair daily harmful?" See dozens of sites listing harm. Also compounding problem is use of countless other hazardous chemical filled products.
TREATMENT - A NATURAL, safe, permanent, low cost cure for this and most hair problems. Best to use tea tree oil shampoo - or selenium based one with few drops of tea tree oil added. In my twenties my hair was thin, I had dandruff and and I was losing a lot - the following stopped the loss, thickened hair and made new growth appear. To clear blocked hair ducts, dead follicles & return scalp to health it needs stimulation to start producing strong, well anchored thicker hair that doesn't shed. Contrary to some thinking that brushing would cause shedding or break hairs, I regularly brushed with a palm held, fairly stiff bristled brush (35 to 45 times).EVERY OTHER DAY. It is important to brush so that it irritates the scalp to a degree - this forces the new growth. A little shedding and some breakage occurs but only to begin with - it quickly stops as hair gets anchored and stronger.(DON´T BE AFRAID OF LOSING NEW GROWING HAIRS - THEY RE-APPEAR EVEN STRONGER) Keep it up and new hairs will grow longer and more will appear overtime. 4 times a week I massaged hair AND scalp with natural oil (olive oil or coconut is good) AFTER brushing and slept with it that way. Gives hair beautiful, healthy shine. My hair completely recovered -absolutely no more loss and lots of new growth. I now have a full head of hair. Hair is thick and strong, both scalp and hair are healthy. I maintain a regular brushing (fewer strokes) and oiling routine and wash infrequently - no more than every 2 weeks (read up on alternatives to washing online). Get as much sun as possible(vital natural vitamin source). What you eat matters. TRY to eat healthily, with large proportion of raw foods and oils (Olive and similar),drink fresh fruit juices, avoid denatured, heavily processed and chemically treated foods, all sodas. Nuts are very good for you. I avoid restaurant foods (read up on what they do to food). YES IT SOUNDS TOO STRICT - BUT WE ARE KILLING YOURSELVES WITH ALL THIS harmful, chemically doctored BAD FOOD. I can be emailed (see my profile) if you want more info. Also see this site "Shampoos damage your hair, so you should check the ingredients for sodium laurel sulphate, sodium laureth sulphate, and propylene glycol, all of which are harmful to health. Sodium Laurel sulphate is a dangerous substance which foams readily, making the shampoo or gel thicker and therefore seem richer. Sodium laureth sulphate is a less harmful form, but both damage hair follicles and cause hair loss. They also harm the eyes, stinging is nature's way of warning you. Tests show fetuses subjected to these substances do not develop functioning eyes, and they are implicated in the formation of cataracts in adults. Propylene glycol - antifreeze - is a known skin irritant and is thought to cause mouth ulcers and even oral cancer when used in mouthwash. It also damages the kidneys and liver. Most of the chemicals we put on our skin are readily absorbed into the body, especially nitrates. One study showed that one shampooing can put more nitrate into your blood than eating a pound of bacon".

well are you sure its from the shampoo? Do the men in your family lose there hair at a young age? Maybe its not the shampoo, it could just be hereditary losing your air that young.
Selsun blue you shouldn't use everyday, I'm sure it states that on the back of the bottle. Unfortunately your hair will not grow back, quit using it and stick with heads and shoulders. I wash my hair everyday, although its not good, i just feel the need to. every 2nd to 3rd day you should wash your hair especially if you are using dandruff shampoo.
