Yes, read a great book on Zoroaster. "In Search of Zarathustra: The First Prophet and the Ideas That Changed the World" by Paul Kriwaczek
The wikipedia article really doesn't give him and the religion all the credit he/it deserves.
Basically Zoroasterism is a reform of Hinduism, but it is a HUGE reform.

Christians and Muslims don't realize, or want to accept that their religions are just a melting of various ideas that had been around for thousands of years, put together to draw disenfranchised followers of broken cultures. even though it makes sense even if you believe. What god existed for millions of years and because those who did not fully understand "God" did not follow the same beliefs that you now do then they were what, wrong?

William zo, do you understand that all the writers of those articles are biased? Furthermore did you ever READ any of them? So the ideas just happened to already exist and yet Christianity and Judism completely created them by themselves, even though their ancestors would have been followers of those beliefs? And the beliefs would have still been present all around them?

Most religions and discoveries have their origins far back in time. The ancient Greeks changed their beliefs leading on to a new religion and so on until eventually Christianity was born. Christians were mostly reformed Jews and most thingsin the bible originate from fables, other religions etc. It is the same for science. Some things which have only recntly been discovered by scientists have been seen in ancient calculations. I must say, however, that the spaghetti and atomic God worshipers have beaten you.

Actually Angelz, as Christians usually are, is wrong. The Greeks had over 45 demigods born of the mating of a god and human female, just like Jesus. Mithraism and the Osiris cult both had the suffering savior whose death and resurrection are shared by initiates, just like Jesus. Taking care of widows and orphans was an obligation of Jews centuries before Jesus was born (Deut 10:17; 24:20-24, Job 29:4;31:16-22, etc, etc) and James wrote that (James 1:27), Jesus didn't say it.

The concept of the tri-form God, or trinity, came from the Celts, and was introduced to Christianity by an Irishman, Bishop Hillary of Poitiers. So you are clearly not up on your theological history. For that matter, you completely ignore the Asian and Native American spirituality's, neither of which were influenced in any way by the Greeks, Egyptians, or Aryans.

Confronting the Copycat Thesis

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Multi-Essay Examination

J. P. Holding
In spite of having been pronounced dead even by intelligent skeptics, the thesis that Judaism and Christianity consist merely of stolen pagan myths and ideas continues to be promulgated by the uncritical and accepted by the gullible. Acharya S and her Christ Conspiracy are simply the latest recycling of the general thesis, but now, even Robert Price has promulgated aspects of it in his Deconstructing Jesus.

This series of articles will serve as detail-supplements to Glenn Miller's general essay refuting the pagan-copycat thesis. We will make specific studies of religions or ideas that the critics claim are the source for some Jewish or Christian belief or concept.

Christianity didn't invent nearly as much as they think they did. Even Judaism took quite a bit from the Egyptians when they were there for 400 years. I'd even bet that the 10 Commandments were originally Egyptian.

actually it does because incase you dont know, HINDUISM came before greeks, and is the other half of ZOROASTRIANS. hinduism was created by the same group of people called aryans that were followers of zoroastrianism. hinduism presents some fresh ideas that no other religion does:
different forms of god
female form of god
reincarnation
dharam
karam-or as you americans call it karma
all life form returns to nature
think before you speak, and know which religion came first

All region is the same idea done over and over again, with different twists or stories on what and how things happened. I think the difference in any religion is the level of spirituality. and the way you conduct your self in your acts.
