How long does it take to kill off the root on a hair you keep plucking out? Example on an eyebrow or chin or thigh? Those annoying little single ones that pop up from time to time never seem to want to get the message to DIE!!!

I know about electrolysis but I am NOT paying out for a machine to deal with one or two hairs and I am not going to pay for a visit to a salon either. Tweezers do the job just fine but how many 'plucking' times will it take to kill the little sods off???? Anyone know the 'plucking' answer??

Just to say no to waxing too as isn't it just the same as plucking...the hair is ripped out at the root level....one by wax one by tweezers?? Surely that is exactly the same principal??

Sorry but no amount of plucking will ever kill them off, electrolysis is the only answer. Personally I wax, the hair comes through much finer and stays away for a long time. Try veet cold wax strips you can buy them in boots, you don't have to go to a salon.

Someone's already said no amount of plucking will kill off the root, only electrolysis will do that, which I agree with.

Having said that, some people are a bit quirky...me for example. I'm always having to shave my underarms and legs etc.....BUT since the first time my aunt plucked my eyebrows at age 16, they've never grown back and retain the shape she plucked them into then (shame it was too thin)! I just get the really occasional new hair there and tweeze it out again. I mean like 1 new eyebrow hair that wasn't there before every 3 or 4 weeks. Very strange!

I use an epilator for my legs and bikini area. The results are good giving me baby smooth hair ! I use it on the upper lip and now very little hair appears.

I use to pluck my eyebrows but now they have stopped growing back, so i guess it is over a period of years before hairs stop growing at all.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
